If you want to enjoy freshly baked breads and pastries at home without making dough from scratch, Atome Bakery offers a convenient solution. The Vancouver-based service delivers frozen, ready-to-bake sourdough breads and pastries that are easy to finish in your own oven.

My order included Brioche, Country Rye Sourdough Loaf, Traditional Sourdough Baguette, Traditional Sourdough Loaf, Pizza Dough, and a Liege Waffle.

Everything arrived frozen and well-insulated with dry ice. Each item arrived fully proofed and packaged with clear instructions. Atome provided a baking pan to bake certain products which required it. I did need to line the pan with parchment paper, which is something to keep on hand before baking.

I baked a few of the products and here are some notes from my experiences so far. The Country Rye Sourdough Loaf had a deep crust and a pleasantly dense, moist crumb with a subtle tang. The Traditional Sourdough Loaf had a nice lighter texture. The Traditional Sourdough Baguette had a crisp shell with a soft interior.

The Brioche was soft and buttery, and baking it at home allowed the aroma to fill the kitchen. The Liege Waffles only needed reheating. I used a toaster oven to gently warm it up. It was dense, caramelized and delicious!

I found the process easy and the final products just as good buying from a bakery. For anyone who enjoys fresh baking but doesn’t want to make dough from scratch, Atome provides a reliable solution with a solid lineup of products and helpful instructions.
