June 1 – October 13: The West Coast Culinary Experience at PICA
The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) is excited to announce the debut of The West Coast Culinary Experience: an immersive exploration of British Columbia’s vibrant culinary landscape. Available for booking seven days a week from May 1 until October 13. Tours begin at either 10:00 am or 3:00 pm and lasts approximately 3 hours. June 3 -17: Spring Field and Forest Menu at Wildebeest
This spring, Wildebeest underscores its philosophy of working closely with local farms, foragers and providers by offering a spring Field and Forest Menu available June 3 – 17. The menu features such dishes as Foxglove Farm asparagus, smoked Yarrow Meadows duck, Peace Country lamb shank, rabbit rigatoni and a “Grand Fir” dessert comprising malted custard, grand fir ice cream and cannoli pastry. As part of the feature, bar manager Alex Black will also shake up a “How to Dougie” cocktail mingling Douglas fir-infused Resurrection Spirits White Rye, Dry Vermouth, foraged Flowering Currant Cordial, Maraschino Liqueur and Herbal Bitters. Wildebeest’s Field and Forest Menu dishes are available in limited quantities and served on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are recommended and can be made via Open Table or by calling Wildebeest at 604-687-6880.

June 8: Paella and Rosé Patio Parties at Ancora False Creek, Ambleside Locations
Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio will mark the occasion of National Rosé Day by hosting dual Paella and Rosé Parties on the open-air patios at both its original False Creek (1600 Howe Street, Vancouver) and new Ambleside (1351 Bellevue Ave., West Vancouver) locations on June 8 from 2 pm – 4 pm. The reception-style events pair a Mediterranean-inspired tapas menu of boquerones, Castelvetrano olives and a Canadian-exclusive carving station showcasing authentic 100% Jamón Ibérico with six varieties of rosé wine and Chef Ricardo Valverde’s signature Peruvian-style Seafood Paella. A limited number of tickets are available for $49 per person plus tax and gratuity at ancoradining.com/events.

June 10: Farm to Bottle Sake Tasting Dinner with Nakashima Sake Brewery at Ubuntu Canteen
On June 10 at 6:30 pm, Ubuntu Canteen and That’s Life Gourmet will showcase Nakashima Sake Brewery in the latest edition of its ongoing Farm-to-Table, Farm-to-Bottle Dinner Series. Guests will have an opportunity to taste six “Kozaemon”-label sakes from the artisan brewery that dates back to the 1700s, including a special gold medal Junmai Daiginjo that is limited to 10 bottles in the world as well as newly arrived Kozaemon Daiginjo that is brewed with local table rice instead of sake rice. A limited number of all-inclusive tickets to the event are available for $155 per person. Tickets can be purchased online here.

June 12: Yuwa Japanese and Cuisine Kozaemon Sake Dinner
On June 12, Yuwa Sommelier and Co-Owner Iori Kataoka will welcome That’s Life Gourmet’s Mariko Taijiri and Mr. Munetaka Nakashima from Nakashima Jozo.  A limited number of tickets to the dinner, which also includes all sake pairings and a multi-course feast featuring Executive Chef Masahiro Omori’s signature take on traditional Japanese cuisine, are available for $150 per person plus tax and gratuity.

June 12: Di Beppe hosts Patio Launch Party
On June 12, Di Beppe officially opens its Carrall Street patio section for the summer months by hosting a Patio Launch Party from 4 pm – 6 pm. During the event, guests can enjoy half-price spritzes and complimentary chicchetti (small bites) prepared by Chef Andrew Morales.

June 18: Hip Hop Trivia Night at Juke Fried Chicken
Whether you’re a Biggie or a Tupac fan, all Eyez are on Juke Fried Chicken when the Chinatown chicken-and-rib joint gets Ready to Fry by hosting Hip Hop Trivia Night on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. Teams of up to six are invited to take part in five rounds of questions on all things Hova, Dre and Wu-Tang with food and drink specials and prizes up for grabs. Sign up as an individual or a team of up to six via email ([email protected]), Instagram (@jukefriedchicken) or Facebook (/jukefriedchicken) to guarantee a spot. Walk-ins are also welcome.

June 19 – Sept 1: Fable Kitchen Midsummer Night’s Feature
From June 19 – Sept 1, Fable Kitchen will be opening at 5 pm Wednesday through Sunday for Bard on the Beach attendees. They will be offering a “Midsummer Night’s Feature” three-course menu for $37 available from 5 pm – 5:45 pm.

June 22: Douglas Park Community Day event
Festivities will include stage performances and entertainment, inflatables, carnival games, concession, community booths and much more. The goal is to strengthen community and celebrate the diversity of this neighbourhood by bringing together families, community centre program participants, talented instructors, local business and our community partners. It promises to be a great event with an estimated 2500 people attending. Find out more.

June 27: Cibo Trattoria Wines of Trentino Dinner
Cibo Trattoria
 is hosting a special four-course wine dinner created by Executive Chef Curtis Luk featuring Wines of Trentino on June 27. Wine representative Stefania Piacentin and Alessandro Angelini of Ethica Wines will bring the Trentino region into focus and the wines Villa Di Corlo Grasparossa Di Castelvetro Lambrusco Emilia Romagna, Cantina Lavis Pinot Grigio Trentino DOC and Cabernet Sauvignon Trentino DOC, and Villa Cafaggio Chianti Classico Toscana DOCG. June 27: Michelin on the Road™ dinner at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar
Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar will host an exclusive Michelin on the Road™ dinner on June 27 that pairs the culinary talents of its Executive Chef Roger Ma with Melissa Rodriguez, Chef/Partner of New York City’s Michelin-starred Del Posto the celebrated Italian enclave which she co-owns with acclaimed restaurateurs Lidia and Joe Bastianich. The one-night-only event features a cocktail-and-canapé reception and six-course collaborative menu along with wine pairings by Jackson Family Wines. June 27: Tacofino X Strange Fellows Brewing Dinner at Tacofino Hastings
Tacofino will continue pairing its beloved Baja-by-way-of-West-Coast cuisine with the best of BC’s craft beer community when it hosts another event in its monthly Beer Dinner Series at its Hastings location (2327 E. Hastings St.) by collaborating with Vancouver’s Strange Fellows Brewing on Thursday, June 27. Guests can opt for seatings at either 6 or 8:30 p.m. and enjoy a custom, five-course menu paired with a range of unique and exclusive beer from the notable local brewery. Tickets are available for $55 per person inclusive of tax, gratuity and ticketing fees.

The Chefs at the restaurants have been busy creating new items for their spring menus, using seasonal and local ingredients. All of the restaurants are currently offering fresh halibut features every day as well.

  • Sandbar: Chicken Baja Salad; Sauteed Prawns & Scallops; Linguine Vongole; 7oz Tenderloin & Mushrooms
  • Seasons: Quinoa Salad; Kale & Burrata Salad; Green Beans; Roasted Cauliflower; Potato Crusted Halibut; Grilled Octopus; Raspberry Chocolate Panna Cotta
  • Teahouse: Seared Rare Albacore Tuna; Roasted Baby Beets; Steak Neptune; Grilled Chicken Salad 

Sunday Porchetta Dinner Feature at The Flying Pig
The Flying Pig will be capping off each weekend with a Sunday Porchetta Dinner feature, available for $21 per person at all three Vancouver locations. Sourced from family-run Geldermans Farm in the Fraser Valley, the premium porchetta is slow roasted on site for four hours to create succulent pork meat with a crispy, crackling skin. Stuffed porchetta will be hand carved and served alongside crackling mashed potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and house-made gravy for a true farm-to-table feast. As The Flying Pig’s Sunday Porchetta Dinners will be available in limited quantities and are expected to sell out, early seatings are recommended in order to avoid disappointment.

June 22 & 23: Fable Diner Special Feature
Celebrate fresh strawberries season with B.C. Strawberries at Fable Diner. The special feature, Strawberry Shortbread with Amaretto Sabayon, will be available for two days only, June 22 and June 23.
