Lucinda’s Deli is a popular takeout-only sandwich spot that uses locally-sourced produce, Italian-imported meat, and fresh ingredients to prepare some of the best sandwiches in the Bay Area.

You’ll find a menu of options like Roast Beef (with blue cheese mayo, onion jam, Thai bbq sauce, arugula, pickled red onion, and crispy onions); Soppressata (with artichoke cream cheese, arugula, red onion, pickled cucumber, balsamic reduction, pepperoncini, tomato) and more.

There’s that moment when you break apart the two halves of the sub revealing the beautiful colours of the carefully stacked layers of deli meat, vegetables, spreads and fillings.
We tried the Pastrami (with cauliflower giardiniera, calabrian chili mayo, provolone, arugula, tomato, hot pepper relish) and B.L.T.A (with bacon, arugula, heirloom tomato, chipotle mayo, tomato jam, avocado). Both were $18 and were delicious. Heavy, fully loaded sandwiches with quality ingredients. A nice mix of salty, spicy and creamy flavors along with crisp vegetables. The bread was toasted on the outside and soft on the inside.

They are a busy deli so it’s good to order ahead online otherwise you should expect a bit of a wait in person.
Lucinda’s Deli makes a great spot to grab sandwiches for a picnic if you’re going to be in the Alamo Square/Painted Ladies area.
