KFC has transformed its iconic bucket into an NBA regulation-sized basketball hoop with the help of Toronto-based artist Corbin Portillo (BLKOUTLN).
This is because accessibility to outdoor sports is an issue for 50% of Canadians, who find the winter weather to be a huge deterrent to playing the sports they love.
Basketball in particular has become increasingly popular with Canadians, with numbers that rival those of even hockey.
Until Feb 22, the KFCourt will be Toronto’s first outdoor, weather-proof court under Toronto’s Bentway, proving that every season is bucket season.
Bookable at KFCourt.ca, private court time can be reserved with the $5 booking fee going to a local charity, Jump Thru Hoops.
Public shoot time will also be available seven days a week, at no charge, to encourage Torontonians to defy winter weather and feed their passion for the game.
