Husk Nashville takes Southern cuisine to another level by focusing on locally sourced ingredients and reinterpreting classic dishes with a modern approach. Located in a historic Victorian mansion, the restaurant blends charm and sophistication, making it a destination for those looking to experience the depth of Southern flavors in a refined setting.

The restaurant has a strong commitment to sourcing strictly local and seasonal ingredients from farms and small producers. I really liked the board that they had at the entrance naming all the producers that they work with.

What I tried
I visited Husk on my trip to Nashville and trip the following:
Bear Creek Beef Tartare – A well-balanced dish featuring fresh, finely chopped beef with Crawfish XO, banana pepper, and mint. The combination of rich beef, seafood umami, and subtle heat made for a bold yet delicate starter.

Joyce Farms Heritage Chicken – Served with Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash), peppermash, and basil, this dish had a perfect balance of smokiness and acidity. The chicken was tender, and the seasonal vegetables complemented it well.

Bear Creek Pork Chop – Juicy and flavorful, the pork was served with black garlic BBQ, tomato, and shiso. The black garlic added depth, while the tomato and shiso brought in brightness, making each bite well-rounded.

Cheddar Biscuits – A classic done right. Buttery, flaky, and packed with cheddar, these biscuits were a satisfying side.

HUSK Lemonade – Refreshing and slightly tart, this lemonade had a natural citrus flavour without being overly sweet. A great non-alcoholic option that paired well with the meal.

Chocolate Sorbet – A rich yet light dessert with pecan miso, shortbread, and pork fat caramel. The combination of sweet, nutty, and savoury elements made this a unique and memorable way to end the meal.

The space has a welcoming feel, with exposed brick walls, warm lighting, and a balance of rustic and contemporary design elements. The kitchen is open so you can have a look at the culinary team at work.
