Disclosure: I was invited to a media event.
If you’re a CFL fan and a foodie, you’ll be happy to know that BC Place and BC Lions have launched an all-new food menu and expanded specialty beer program for the 2016 season. The new menu is created by award winning Executive Chef, Will Tse, and is bound to impress Lions fans. I attended a media event recently where I sampled many of the signature food items.
“Beast of Fire” Kitchen
Headlining the new menu is the all-new “Beast of Fire” gourmet deli-style kitchen located at Sections 217 & 237. They will be serving made-to-order sandwiches carved and prepared on the spot. A rotating menu will feature fresh roasts of locally sourced prime beef, pork briskets, turkey breast, and chicken from the Fraser Valley.
Unique Meals
Foodies/fans can also indulge in a range of unique items including the “Big Event” Triple-Patty Burger that includes 6 strips of Applewood-smoked bacon.
Taco options include crispy halibut and shrimp tacos.
The Foot Long Hot Dog features house made chili, cheddar cheese, bacon bits and crispy onions.
A variety of poutine options are available including sriracha chicken poutine, braised pork belly poutine, popcorn chicken poutine, and butter chicken poutine.
A vegetarian option is the vegetable bowl featuring tofu, edamame, lima beans, corn, butternut squash, mushrooms, sweet onion and ginger sauce.
Warm Up Specials
For the 2016 Lions season, BC Place is introducing Warm Up Specials where fans can enjoy special prices on snacks and drinks up to 30 minutes prior to kick-off. Fans who arrive early can enjoy rotating specials such as 2-for-1 hot dogs, 50% off select Beast on Fire snacks and $6 select beers.
