Tire Shop Taqueria offers some of the best Tijuana-style tacos in Los Angeles. This joint doesn’t truly fit into any category; it’s not a truck, a restaurant, or a cart.
Instead, Tire Shop Taqueria’s team sets up their makeshift taco stand in the parking lot of a used tire shop, El Jancho. Although the surroundings are humble, the food is truly unforgettable.

Tire Shop Taqueria seasons, marinates, and grills the meat with mesquite charcoal.

After finely dicing the meat, the meat is placed onto fresh-pressed tortillas, topped with onion and cilantro, and smeared with red salsa and guacamole.

They specialize in Tijuana-style carne asada (grilled beef) tacos but there are other options like chorizo, al pastor, beef cheek, and chicken.

Quesadillas are another option, especially if you want a massive portion size. For something a little different, order the vampiro, an open-faced taco served on a tortilla that was left on the grill, making it crunchy. You can enjoy your tacos, quesadillas, or vampiros at the large communal tables in the parking lot.

Their tacos are delicious and finger-licking good! The meats are juicy, succulent, smoky, charred and nicely seasoned. The guacamole was wonderfully creamy.

We washed it all down with a refreshing pineapple aguas fresca.

Remember to bring cash. The line might be long but it moves fast.

There is a parking lot at the food stand but there is also street parking.
Tire Shop Taqueria is located at 4077 Avalon Blvd, Los Angeles.
