Attention bubble tea lovers, there is a new and unique bubble tea shop in Richmond. Meet Tea Industries featuring Toffee, a robot barista that can put together your bubble tea drink in around 2 minutes.
On the menu are Hot and Cold Milk Teas with tea bases such as Black, Green, Oolong and Thai. They also offer Fruit Teas.
They use fresh and natural ingredients and this includes using fresh Canadian dairy rather than milk powders.
The only toppings they have right now are Pearls which are cooked in their kitchen but dispensed by the robot. They are looking to add more toppings in the future.
They only offer large size and these are priced around $6 – $7 dollars.
You place your order at the self-serve kiosk or at their counter and the robot brews the tea, adds the other ingredients, shakes and seals the drink. Syrup, ice level, and topping selection are customizable.
You can monitor the progress of your order on their screen.
Scan the QR code on your receipt to open the door to retrieve your drink.
We tried the Cold Japanese Roasted Milk Tea; Hot Thai Milk Tea; and Double Q Fruit Iced Tea.
I thought the drinks and the pearls were reasonable. The pricing was good too for a large size.
The hand wave by the robot was a nice touch. Straws and drink carriers with a handle are self-serve beside the robot.
They have a small seating area for you to enjoy drinks.
