This year’s prizes include 140,000 Instant Win Prizes, 324 Collect and Win game prizes, and 1 Sweepstakes prize.
In a nutshell, you need to earn Game Plays either through purchases at Starbucks or with the no-purchase necessary method.
When you play the game, you have a chance to receive either an Instant Win Game prize or a Collect and Win Game Piece.
For the Collect and Win, you need three Unique Game Pieces to win that prize.
The Collect and Win Grand Prize is Starbucks for Life which means you get 1 free food or drink every day for 30 years. You can also win Starbucks for 1 year, 6 months, 3 months or 1 month.

2020 Promotion Period
The promotion period for Starbucks For Life 2020 Holiday Edition Canada is December 1, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. PST – January 4, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
How to Enter Starbucks For Life 2020
During the Promotion Period, visit www.starbucksforlife.ca and sign into your Starbucks Rewards account.
You will receive one Game Play for registering for the Promotion and viewing the provided “Onboarding” experience (first visit only).
How to Earn a Game Play
There are 2 ways to earn a Game play:
Purchase Method
Make a purchase at Starbucks using a Starbucks Card or linked payment method, or by scanning your Starbucks app prior to checkout during the promotion period (excluding Starbucks Card and Starbucks Card reloads).
Then, visit www.starbucksforlife.ca and sign into your Account and you will have received one Game play.
Follow the links and instructions to play the Game and you will receive either an Instant Win Game prize or one Collect and Win Game Piece.
No Purchase Method
During the Promotion Period, visit www.starbucksforlife.ca and follow the link and instructions to complete and submit the entry form.
An email with a unique link will be sent to the email address you provided on the form.
Click on the unique link to enter the Promotion Site and sign into your Account and you will have received one Game Play.
Follow the links and instructions to play the Game and you will receive either an Instant Win Game prize or one Collect and Win Game Piece.
Game Play Limit
You can earn up to 2 Game Plays per day during the promotion period by making:
- up to 2 purchase transactions OR
- 2 no purchase necessary requests OR
- a combination of the purchase and free entry method for a total of 2 plays per day
Bonus Game Plays
Duplicate Collect and Win Game Pieces
For every 3 duplicate Collect and Win Game Pieces earned, you have the option to receive a bonus Game Play or 1 entry into the Sweepstakes.
You will also “unlock” the Ninth Prize Type – Starbucks for Life Coffee Collection and have the opportunity to play for the chance to win that Collect and Win Game prize by collecting Game Pieces.
Challenges
You can complete the following Challenges to receive bonus Game plays.
The challenges have two tiers. After completing the first level of these challenges, a second level will be unlocked offering a harder challenge that is worth even more plays.
- On a Roll Tier 1: From December 1 – 6, 2020, make 1 purchase transaction at Starbucks 2 days in a row to receive 1 bonus play.
- On a Roll Tier 2: From December 1 – 6, 2020, make 1 purchase transaction at Starbucks 4 days in a row to receive 3 bonus plays.
- Gingerbrad’s Baking Competition Tier 1: From December 7 – 13, 2020, make 1 purchase transaction at Starbucks by 11:00 a.m. (local time) to receive 1 bonus play.
- Gingerbrad’s Baking Competition Tier 2: From December 7 – 13, 2020, make 3 separate purchase transactions at Starbucks by 11:00 a.m. (local time) to receive 3 bonus plays.
- Hot Cocoa Quest Tier 1: From December 14 – 20, 2020, make a purchase transaction of $10 or more in a single transaction at Starbucks to receive 1 bonus play.
- Hot Cocoa Quest Tier 2: From December 14 – 20, 2020, after you complete Hot Cocoa Quest: Tier 1, make a purchase transaction of $15 or more at Starbucks to receive 3 bonus plays.
- Juniper’s Firewood Hunt Tier 1: From December 21 – 27, 2020, make 1 purchase transaction at Starbucks before 12:00 p.m. (local time) and 1 purchase transaction at a Starbucks on or after 12:00 p.m. (local time) in a single day to receive 1 bonus play.
- Juniper’s Firewood Hunt Tier 2: From December 21 – 27, 2020, make 3 separate purchase transactions at Starbucks on or after 12:00 p.m. (local time) to receive 3 bonus plays.

To win a Prize Type, you need to collect 3 unique Game Pieces. 2 of the 3 Game Pieces for each Prize Type will be awarded regularly while the third Game Piece which is rare.
