Starbucks Announces The Devil Wears Prada 2 Collaboration

Starbucks Canada has officially confirmed a global partnership with 20th Century Studios ahead of the theatrical release of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on May 1. This campaign marks a return to the cinematic universe where the brand was famously featured as a staple of the high-stakes fashion industry.

Starting April 20, Canadian customers can access four new beverage customizations through the Starbucks app. These drinks are inspired by the film’s central characters and represent a shift toward themed, “secret menu” style offerings that lean into the specific preferences of the fictional Runway Magazine staff.

The Character-Inspired Menu

The collection consists of four specific builds that reflect the personalities of the original cast.

  • Miranda’s Signature Order: A Caffè Latte made with non-fat milk, served extra hot with an extra shot and no foam. This drink mirrors the exacting standards of the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Andy’s Cappuccino: A simple but evolving choice featuring an oat beverage base with caramel and cinnamon.
  • Nigel’s Go-to Doppio: A bold Doppio Espresso Con Panna finished with mocha.
  • Emily’s Fave Iced Chai: A low-sugar Iced Chai Latte made with an almond beverage and caramel.

Global Campaign and Exclusives

The partnership extends beyond the menu board. Erin Silvoy, senior vice president of global marketing at Starbucks, noted that the brand has been an organic part of this story since the 2006 original. As part of the promotion, Starbucks Reserve locations in New York City will distribute limited edition promotional copies of Runway Magazine.

While Canadian stores focus on the beverage lineup, international markets like China will see additional merchandise. This includes themed cups, phone charms, and bag accessories featuring motifs from the movie.

Production Background

The sequel arrives two decades after the original film defined a specific era of workplace culture. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all reprise their roles. Director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna also return to lead a cast that now includes Justin Theroux and Lucy Liu.
