Rendezvous San Francisco: New Cocktail Bar

Rendezvous is a new whimsical cocktail den opening offering playful, creative drinks and food to entertain local and visiting imbibers alike, from the Marina and beyond. They are opening Thursday, April 20 at 2030 Lombard Street in San Francisco.

This concept-driven watering hole is helmed by an award-winning bartender Shaher Misif who has over 15 years of experience at legendary cocktail bars in the F&B industry, and a pedigree spanning from the PlumpJack Group to the Kimpton Group.

The cocktail menu at Rendezvous features spirited drinks like the infamous #DuckieRosé: rosé sangria served with a rubber duckie ($15); Netflix and Chill: butter-washed bourbon, amaro, tamarind, and elderflower soda served in a popcorn box with popcorn garnish ($17); Cubby Colada: genever, flower water, coconut cream, vanilla, pineapple slushy served in a honey bear glass ($16); Secreto Cocktail: created based on the collaboration of the imbiber’s whimsy and bartenders creativity (A.Q.).

Other drink options include low-proof cocktails like Sherry Amour: carbonated sherry and cranberry ($14); Espresso-tini shots ($9) and shooters like Mind Blazer: tequila, pineapple, smoke, and herbal tincture in a bong ($11).

The wines will encompass natural and biodynamic selections like Scribe Rosé and the beer will range from easy-drinking PBRs to fine Trappist ales. 

Misif has tapped past chefs and industry friends he’s worked with for the opening late-night food menu like Charcuterie & Cheese Plate ($28) in collaboration with Little Bear Boards who are due to launch by the summertime; Fondue with pretzels and French bread ($16); Mortadella Sliders with provolone, stone ground mustard, and mayo (3 for $13 or add $5 for truffle mortadella); and Crudité Mezze: seasonal vegetables along with a chickpea dip ($15); Rendezvous will also offer  Swedish Meatballs on a sword ($12), and Bacon-wrapped Cocktail Wieners with BBQ sauce ($13), paying homage to the affinity for a bacon-wrapped hotdog in the streets of San Francisco after Giants game.

Rendezvous plans to open its kitchen to pop-ups and transient chefs for seasonal concepts and tasting events. 

The seductive neon sign draws guests through the unassuming exterior to an intimate cocktail bar with high-top tables and seating available for 16 bar and 35 guests in total.

Misif has fashioned the design of Rendezvous to include alluring curtains, flower motifs to evoke spring and the “Summer of Love,” and playful bar decorations.

The back bar features an eclectic array of interactive toys, knick-knacks, worldly spirits, and drink vessels collected throughout Misif’s stint behind the bar.

Much like a rendezvous, secrets will remain under wraps at this new establishment. 

Rendezvous will be open Sunday to Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight and Friday to Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.; food will be served until 11:30 p.m.
