Playa Bowls Grand Opening in Tallahassee, Florida: Free Acai Bowls for First 50 Guests

The Tallahassee shop marks the second Playa Bowls location in Florida’s panhandle region and the 13th in the state.

Located at 699 West Gaines Street Suite 101, the new shop will be offering free bowls and limited-edition T-shirts to the first 50 guests in line.

Additionally, the shop is partnering with local businesses to provide five days’ worth of giveaways on its Instagram account, where winners can receive free prizes from participating vendors.

The Tallahassee shop opening is a testament to the brand’s aggressive development plans in the Sunshine State, where Playa Bowls has experienced an incredibly positive consumer response since tapping into the Florida market five years ago.

This regional support, along with Tallahassee’s booming business climate and exceptionally welcoming community are some of the many reasons why the superfruit bowl shop chose to expand its footprint in the capital.

Playa Bowls’ bright, nutritious, and portable on-the-go menu items will provide a healthy and refreshing dining option for Tallahassee’s bustling college crowd.

Playa Bowls Tallahassee is proud to partner with the Tallahassee Food Network, whose mission is to grow community-based food systems to provide healthy, affordable food for all, and the Leon County Extension of the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

Through these partnerships, Playa Bowls will be providing the organizations with compostable food waste materials and 3-gallon tubs to reuse as garden planters.

Guests at Playa Bowls can pick from an extensive menu of delicious bowls or customize their own.

They can choose from a variety of proprietary blends made with superfoods, including pure acai, pitaya and brand-new mango, chia pudding, coconut, kale, banana, oatmeal, and more.

Guests can also add tasty and nutritious toppings, such as fresh cut fruits, seeds, nuts, granola, dried berries, and nut butters.

The superfruit bowl shop also offers a selection of juices, smoothies, cold brew, and other select drinks. Playa Bowls can be made vegan or gluten-free, and it can be adapted to integrate into Whole30, Keto, and Paleo diets.

Founded by surfers Abby Taylor & Rob Giuliani, Playa Bowls was born out of the desire to recreate deliciously healthy versions of the acai and pitaya bowls the pair encountered on various surf trips spanning from Costa Rica to Hawaii.

The duo discovered new and unique twists on this popular post-surf treat at each beach and came home wanting more.

Abby and Rob decided to set up a blender and a folding table on the boardwalk in their hometown of Belmar, and Playa Bowls was born.

After eight years, thousands of employees, and hundreds of thousands of bowls later, Playa Bowls continues to offer superfruit bowls with a mission to lead communities in healthy, sustainable living.

Since its inception in 2014, Playa Bowls has emerged as a leader in the national superfruit bowl shop segment and specializes in bowls such as acai and pitaya, oatmeal, chia, smoothies, juices, cold brew, and more. The brand has 175+ shops systemwide, operating in 20 states, with plans to continue to expand the domestic footprint across the U.S. and globally.

The new shop in Tallahassee will be open seven days a week from 8am-10pm.
