After two years of operating as a ghost kitchen in the beloved Sloane’s Corner, Chef Ji Kang and Tim McEneny are announcing Pizza Leila’s first independent physical location coming to Dallas in January 2023.
Pizza Leila, owned by Dallas restaurant group, NL Group and named after Tim and Meredith’s daughter, will be slinging their Sicilian-style square pizzas right down the road from Sloane’s Corner on Flora Street in Downtown Dallas.
After receiving an overwhelming amount of support from the Dallas community since opening the ghost kitchen in 2020, NL Group knew it was time to expand into a physical fast-casual pizza shop.
The new space will be a modern take on a traditional New York City pizzeria with counter service, minimal seating, and all of the pizzas on display for guests to “window shop” and choose by the slice.
The new restaurant will also encompass a small patio out front where guests can savor their slices while enjoying the surrounding museums, symphonies, and atmosphere of Downtown Dallas.
Pizza Leila’s new space will be both convenient and accessible to the entire Dallas community while still bringing in eclectic elements of the Arts District and incorporating artistic details curated by Covael Design Studio.
Guests can expect to recognize many of their favorite thick-crusted pizzas from the previous menu with a few new pies such as the pizza Chef Ji and Chef AQ from Jose’s on Lovers collaborated with and appetizers like Cacio E Pepe Arinchini, a modern twist on a mozzarella stick filled with Pecorino, Parmesan, and Mozzarella.
Pizza Leila has always taken pride in the high-quality ingredients used in their pies from the whole milk mozzarella cheese to the fresh herbs and pizza dough that uses a starter the team developed two years ago when Pizza Leila first opened and these standards will carry over to the new restaurant.
Beyond the pies, pizza lovers can also sip on beverages such as an ice-cold nitro negroni on tap.
NL Group’s Beverage Director, Trevor Landry, was inspired by a negroni he stumbled upon in New York City and crafted his own version to serve on tap at the new location.
Pizza Leila will be the first pizza restaurant to have a nitro negroni on tap!
Pizza Leila plans to open their doors to the public in January 2023 and will be offering dine-in, takeout, and delivery 7 days a week.
Their full menu will also be available on all third-party food delivery platforms in Dallas.
The new location will open on the retail floor of the Atelier Luxury Apartments at 2111 Flora Street, Suite 120.
