Levain Bakery‘s story began in 1994 when Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes, two friends who shared a passion for baking, decided to turn their love for cookies into a business.

What started as a small NYC enterprise quickly gained a cult following for their enormous, gooey, and irresistibly delicious cookies.
The NYC founded brand has multiple stores across the USA. I visited their Chicago West Loop store which opened in 2022.
The smell of freshly baked goods wafts through the air as you approach the bakery, beckoning you inside.

The interior is bright and inviting, with the counter displaying an array of delicious treats.

Levain Bakery’s cookies aren’t your ordinary cookies. They weigh in at a hefty 6 ounces each!
I tried their signature chocolate chip walnut cookie which was truly a decadent treat. Each bite is a delightful experience, with a crisp exterior, a gooey center, and a perfect balance of semi-sweet chocolate chips and chunks of walnuts. Sweet, dense and very buttery!

There were other cookie flavours including Two Chip Chocolate Chip Cookie; Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookie; Oatmeal Raisin Cookie and more.

They coffee cakes, muffins and so forth.

Levain Bakery Chicago West Loop is located at 840 W Randolph Street.
