Check out my Kirby Cafe reservation guide below! You’ll find a few tips and tricks to making a reservation for the Kirby Cafe in Japan. They have two locations: one is in Tokyo and the other is in Hakata, Fukoka.
Who You Are Up Against
First and foremost, I must say that getting a reservation for the Kirby Cafe is difficult because you are not only up against real people who want to visit the cafe but you are also up against people who are taking up the reservations and selling them to whoever wants to buy them. The reservation does not take a credit card which makes it easier for people who want to flip the reservations for profit.
Tokyo vs Hakata
It is much harder to get the reservation for the Tokyo location compared to the Hakata one.
To familiarize yourself with how to make the reservation and what information you need to enter, you can always check out the reservation page for their Hakata location which are way more time slots than the Tokyo spot.
Kirby Cafe Reservation Date & Time
Go to the Kirby Cafe reservation site (https://kirbycafe-reserve.com/guest/tokyo/reserve/) on the 10th of the month for next month’s reservation. So for an April trip, go to the website on March 10 at 6:00 pm Japan time. They open up for reservations one day a month only. However, any leftover, unclaimed spots are available for booking anytime after if they are available.
English or Japanese?
I am noting all the steps in English but it has been recommended to just leave it as Japanese so that you don’t waste time clicking the translation button in the top right corner. Every second is precious!
Reservation Tips & Tricks
When the reservations open up at 6 pm Japan Time on the 10th day of the month, scroll all the way down past the words to the tick pox to proceed. That brown box will not available until 6 pm.
Next, there is a prompt telling you that you only have 10 minutes to complete the reservation.
Click for how many people.
A calendar will show up with circles that are the open time slots.
The reservation form will show up for you to enter your info.
- Top line: Last Name, First Name
- Second line: Last Name in Furigana; First Name in Furigana. I entered only English and it was fine.
- Third line: Cell Phone. What worked for me was either a Japan cell phone area code plus a 7 digit phone number or a Country code plus a 7 digit phone number. Anything else prompted an error. I did not up entering a legit phone number like Country Code + Area Code + Phone Number because it did not work! So the number I entered was fake but it worked. Their system just didn’t really work for foreign numbers.
- Fourth line: Email
- Next: Is this for a birthday or something. Tick the first dot if yes, tick the next one if no.
- Next line: Other requests, like allergies and stuff i think. I just put none.
- Then just tick boxes, scroll down to tick the next ones, then click the left button to proceed.
You get to one more screen before the reservation is pushed through.
When your reservation is accepted, here is what the screen looks like.
The email confirmation looks like this:
If You Didn’t Get a Reservation at First
If you didn’t get a reservation when they are released, keep refreshing because people drop out or cancel. The big refresh is around 10 or 11 minutes after 6 pm (when the slots were open).
You can also check closer to date say like two days out or on the day of for any openings.
Kirby Cafe Reservation Services
If you are looking for a reservation service, that is people who can make the reservation for you, I would recommend going on Facebook and Fiverr and searching for the term, “kirby cafe reservation.” I don’t have any recommendations because I got the reservation myself.
