Here are some happenings for Halloween in Austin where various spots in the city are brewing up some enchanting Halloween activations and crafting devilishly delicious cocktail specials that will have you howling with delight.

Halloween Happenings in Austin: Lefty's Shop of Horrors, Upstairs at Scareoline, Ghoul at Azul, and Moxy Halloween

All month long, they’re transforming into a Halloween in Austin Dream. Picture this: ‘Sunday Scaries’ movie night every Sunday at 7:30 pm, featuring cult classics and thrilling flicks to set the vibes just right.

On October 26, they’re throwing the ultimate Halloween bash that’s sure to be spooktacular.

Think chilling cocktails, FREE tarot readings, and vibes that are anything but basic.

Lefty’s Brick Bar presents “Lefty’s Shop of Horrors” 10/1 – 10/31

Lefty’s Brick Bar is hosting an immersive Halloween experience like no other.

The bar will transform into Lefty’s Shop of Horrors from October 1 to 31, featuring 5 hauntingly unique and Instagrammable spaces, an eerie food and drink menu, and wickedly fun events happening all month long including a tarot residency every Wednesday night, a Scream Queen Drag Show hosted by Louisianna Purchase, Howl-O-Ween for your furry friends, and a Murder Mystery Party. 

Upstairs at Caroline presents “Upstairs at Scareoline” 10/1 – 10/31

A Spooky Upstairs takeover featuring a spooky Cocktail Menu running all month plus spooky decorations throughout the space.

Upstairs at Scareoline’s Halloween Party will take place on Saturday October 27 from 8pm – 1am. Guests can expect a live DJ, drinks, costumes, and spooky vibes.

Azul Rooftop presents “Ghoul at Azul” 10/24 – 10/31

Azul Rooftop located at the Westin Austin Downtown, will be decked out for spooky season starting October 24.

When you order a Halloween-themed drink from October 24 – October 30, you will receive a drink coupon of Ghoul at Azul’s Halloween party on October 31.

The party will include spooky drinks, a live DJ, and costume contests with prizes!

Hotel Viata – 10/29

Boo Bash, a kid friendly event at Hotel Viata, is taking place on Sunday, October 29th. Attendees will be able to mix and mingle with their favorite Disney heroes, princesses, villains and Halloween friends. 

For $40, which includes entrance to the event for two, guests can meet their favorite characters, get unlimited dazzling glitter tattoos from Tinkerbell, dance with Cinderella on the dance floor, paint a pumpkin with Rapunzel, fill up a goodie bag at the trick or treat stations and jump around in the bouncy castle. Solo tickets are available for $12. There will also be a petting zoo put on by Tiny Tails available for an extra cost of $10. Tickets can be purchased online

Characters in attendance include Jack and Sally Skellington, Cruella de Vil, Bruno and Mirabel Madrigal, Elsa, Rapunzel, Spider-Man, Belle, Tinkerbell and Cinderella. Laurel, the Hotel’s restaurant will offer snacks and Halloween cocktails available for purchase. 

Tiki Tatsu-ya – 10/26

Tiki Tatsu-ya is celebrating their 2 year anniversary while kicking off the Halloween weekend on October 26. There will be a 5 course drink menu along with a Luau style buffet. They will be roasting a whole hog for the occasion.

Carpenters Hall – 10/27

Carpenters Hall is hosting their second annual Halloween Feast on October 27. This year, they’re celebrating the collective works of filmmaker Tim Burton with a seven-course offering for $90 per person and an optional drink pairing for and additional $40. Come in costume and ready to indulge in your wildest whims.

Boo at the Zoo -10/7 – 10/28 Sat & Sun

Wear your favorite Halloween costume and join “Boo at the Zoo!” Ride the Haunted Train, explore the scary Haunted House and stroll through the Zoo to see animals at night. The Zoo will be illuminated and decorated for everything Halloween.

Your ticket includes a Haunted Train pass and unlimited visits to our Haunted House. Advance reservations are required for train rides and subject to availability. Call to schedule a train ride and purchase your tickets.

Flores Market: Halloween – 10/14

Flores Market: Halloween will host 40+ local artists and makers/small businesses, food pop-ups, a FREE live theremin performance, FREE Austin Eastciders, a tintype photobooth from Holliday Tintypes! Costumes appreciated.

Halloween at the Hive

The Bee Cave Arts Foundation (a non profit arts organization) is excited to host Halloween at The Hive event for Kids on October 14-15, 21-22 from 1pm to 5pm and October 28 from 12pm to 5pm.

Come in Costume and play with them, while helping us raise money for the Mushroom House, an 8 foot tall playscape that will feature mosaic tiles made by children.

Emporium of Melodies: A Dark Cinematic Music Experience – Oct 15

A Halloween-themed musical performance of cinematic music from movies, video games, anime, Halloween, and more. This family-friendly show features instruments from around the world (ocarina, tinwhistle, duduk, dizi and more), played by local Austin artist Yasmeen Salama, and featuring local talent Carol Cabrero, Analysa Gonzales, and Kae Hattier. Halloween Trivia Night with Twin City Trivia – Oct 20

Time to show off your Halloween Knowledge with Twin City Trivia! Believe yourself to be an expert about all things Halloween? Prove it this October 20th as Twin City Trivia takes over The Whiskey Bar at Pinballz Lake Creek from 7-9pm. From scary movies and famous costume killers, to the history behind the holiday and classic traditions. Play solo or together in a team with ghoulish friends, come dressed up in Halloween costumes to get into the spirit of the season, and show everyone that deserve the title of The Pumpkin King. This event is free to attend, with winners at the end of the evening receiving special Halloween-themed prizes. The Whiskey Bar is a 21+ only bar, Must have a valid ID with you to enter.

A Hollywood Murder Mystery Affair at Gin Bar

Gin Bar will be hosting Murder on the Rooftop: A Hollywood Murder Mystery Affair on Friday, October 27 starting at 8:00 p.m.

Come to the quintessential whodunnit thriller at the estate of Sir Warren Peace and get thrown into a night of mystery, intrigue, and murder you will never forget. With a killer crowd of people just waiting for murder to arrive on the scene, this night will keep everyone looking over their shoulders and guessing who the next victim will be! Bribe suspects for clues and gather information to uncover the unhinged guest who is whacking all the invitees. Just be careful, because you could be next! Dress your best in Old Hollywood evening wear and suits—think “Clue” characters. This is a refined party, after all.

Tickets are available for purchase for $40 and will get you access to 2.5-3 hours of entertainment with professional actors, and a complimentary drink ticket at Gin Bar.
