To get a taste of Hawaii in Portland, GrindWitTryz is the perfect spot. This funky restaurant is home to some of the best Hawaiian and Filipino cuisine in Portland.

Like in Hawaii, your lunch combo at GrindWitTryz will come with two scoops of rice and macaroni salad. Protein options include Ono Chicken, Spicy Ahi Tuna, Kalua Pig and more.
This joint also serves fresh poke bowls, poke nachos, and meat jun – a popular item prepared with marinated beef battered in egg and pan-fried.

The portions at GrindWitTryz are enormous – so there’s no way you’ll leave hungry.

Here is what we tried:
Hawaiian Nachos: Crispy wonton chips drizzled with unagi and sriracha mayo then topped off with a scoop of spicy ahi poke and kalua pig
Garlic Shrimp: Fresh shell-on shrimp tossed in flour, paprika, and cayenne. Pan-fried with a garlic butter sauce.
Ono Chicken: Deep fried chicken dipped into sweet garlic soy sauce.
All the dishes were fragrant and had bold flavours.

On the interior of this eatery, you’ll find a colorful mural, high ceilings, and booth seating. Be sure to get here early – line ups are common and they might sell out!
