Giamela’s has been proudly serving Los Angeles with the best Italian sub sandwiches, pizza, and pasta since 1964.
What began as a humble sub shop has now become a revered and treasured LA institution, known for its classic flavors and retro atmosphere.
On the menu are cold sandwiches (like turkey and ham); hot sandwiches (like steak & cheese and meatball); pasta (like cheese ravioli and spaghetti with pesto); pizza (like pastrami pizza and pepper steak pizza) and more.
We tried their famous Pepper Steak Sub with melted provolone cheese and tomatoes, tender steak, pickles, and onions. The bread is perfectly crusty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Each bite has the right filling to bread ratio showcasing the best flavor and texture of the sandwich; it’s no wonder that this sandwich has become such a fan favorite.
