Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant, Emeril’s made its debut in 1990 and will once again open its doors after more than three months of extensive renovations, including a full redesign of the interiors and kitchen.

Emeril's Reopens With Chef E.J. Lagasse At The Helm

The newly transformed space allows the team to curate an intimate experience for each guest.

With Chef E.J. Lagasse at the helm, this new iteration of Emeril’s is built on a refined and elegant approach to Louisiana cooking, rooted in Chef Emeril Lagasse’s signature bold flavors.

Chef E.J. and his team aim to deliver an elevated dining experience with Louisiana culture as its cornerstone, focusing on independent farmers and the vibrancy of local ingredients.

Emeril’s will introduce two tasting menus, The Classics and Seasonal.

The Classics tasting menu features Chef Emeril’s signature dishes throughout the years, reimagined by Chef E.J. and his culinary team.

Menu highlights include Smoked Salmon Cheesecake, Potato Alexa and Banana Cream Pie.

The Seasonal tasting menu draws inspiration from the area’s most dedicated farmers, fisherman and purveyors to tell a unified story of food and nature.

A few standouts on the Autumn menu include Louisiana Blue Crab, Cauliflower and Caviar, and White Sand Homestead Farm Quail.

The wine program at Emeril’s has been cultivated over the course of 33 years and offers wines spanning the better part of the last century.

The major collections are focused on the regions of Burgundy, Bordeaux, California, as well as some of the most legendary bottlings coming from both Spain and Italy.

For the renovation, the Lagasse’s worked with New Orleans native Rozas Ward to create a more intimate restaurant with a contemporary, timeless design to last for the next 33 years.

The new dining room features banquette seating and floor to ceiling venetian plaster walls with dark walnut wainscotting creating a private dining experience.

In conjunction with the opening, “The Wine Bar at Emeril’s” will open adjacent to the restaurant with the entrance on 334 Julia Street.

The relaxed and lively atmosphere will embody the Lagasse’s love of food, wine, music and art.

A rotating small plates menu includes dishes such as Ceviche, Barbecue Shrimp 1990 and Crab Gumbo.

Guests in this space will also have access to the full wine list at Emeril’s.
