Dumpling Capital Santa Clara CA [Review]

Dumpling Capital is a no-frills, local dumpling spot in Santa Clara with an extensive menu of dumplings; dim sum; vegetable & tofu dishes; appetizers; clay pots; dry noodles; soups; meat dishes and more. You’ll find similar dishes but more authentic dishes compared to Din Tai Fung USA and for a cheaper price.

You order through a QR code at the table after receiving laminated menus. Service was very fast and efficient. There was just one server for all the tables and she was very good.

We had Xiao Long Bao (pork soup) dumplings; Garlic String Beans; Hot & Spicy Eggplant; and Pork & Shrimp Wonton Soup Noodle.

The food was OK for the price and portions. I felt the dumpling skin was not chewy enough and the XLB filling was not very rich. The XLB tasted closer to a regular dumpling than XLB. The Garlic String Beans and Hot & Spicy Eggplant were on the greasier side.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall and has free but limited parking spaces. There is street parking available.

Overall, an OK experience for a mom and pop dumpling shop. Nice to support local and small businesses. They’re not as polished as Din Tai Fung but they’re also cheaper.
