As a neighbourhood spot on Commercial Drive, Community Taps + Pizza is known for their Detroit style pizza and wide selection of beer taps carefully curated with a selection of local and seasonal brews.

On their brunch menu are hearty breakfast bowls; avocado on a toast made with Detroit-style pizza dough; French toasts stuffed with berries or chocolate; and more. Brunch entrees are around $16 – $22. Wash it down with a Caesar; Mimosa; or other brunch cocktails like the The Strawberry infused Bourbon or Moja Martini.
We were hosted at Community Taps + Pizza and tried some of their brunch items including:
The Caesar
Ketel One Vodka, Worcestershire, Cholula, Clamato, Pickle Juice, Lime, Steakspice, topped with an Olive + Pickle.

The Strawberry 77
Strawberry infused Bourbon, Luxardo Maraschino, Cordoniu Cava Brut, Lemon, Simple Syrup.

Fully Loaded Breakfast Bowl
Wedges tossed in Rosemary seasoning, cheese curds, sausage, Applewood smoked bacon, two poached eggs, Dutch sauce.

Veggie Breakfast Bowl
Wedges tossed in Rosemary seasoning, arugula, sliced avocado, mushrooms, cherry tomato, two poached eggs, Dutch sauce.

Detroit Avocado Toast
Mozzarella, guacamole, cherry tomato, arugula, balsamic reduction.

Berry Filled French Toast
Brioche loaf, strawberry and blueberry filling, whipped cream, maple syrup

The brunch items were very nicely crafted with fresh, quality ingredients but were also satisfying as well. Portions were reasonable for the prices. My favourite was the Fully Loaded Breakfast Bowl which had all the essentials of a brunch bowl – eggs, potatoes, cheese, sausage, bacon in a tasty Dutch sauce. The Veggie option was just as good and you wouldn’t miss the meat. The Detroit Avocado was a playful take on the classic avocado toast but in an indulgent Detroit pizza style. The Berry Filled Toast was a nice, sweet entrée which could be a brunch dessert as well. It wasn’t very sweet.
Community Taps + Pizza delivers a solid brunch menu worth trying. They are located at 1191 Commercial Dr, Vancouver, BC.
