We visited Chung Chun Hot Dog, a South Korean brand known for their Rice Hot Dogs with unique fillings and creative toppings.
The Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog is a popular snack originating from the city of Chuncheon in South Korea.
What sets this hot dog apart is its outer layer – a crispy, slightly sweet glutinous rice flour batter that is fermented. The fermentation process giving the batter a slight tanginess. The batter is then wrapped around the hot dog or other fillings, creating a crispy, golden-brown exterior when fried. This special batter also adds a unique soft and chewiness to the hot dog.
For hot dog fillings, they have beef and/or chicken sausages as well as mozzarella cheese.
The Chung Chun Hot Dog is often served with an array of sauces drizzled on. Common choices include ketchup, mustard, mayo, and a special sweet and spicy sauce. The sauces add an extra layer of flavour, allowing you to customize your hot dog to their liking.
