Burlock Coast at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale launches Paula’s Food Diaries

Burlock Coast Seafare & Spirits, the renowned waterfront restaurant nestled within The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, announces its latest exciting culinary initiative, Paula’s Food Diaries, led by beloved local figure chef Paula DaSilva, the resort’s Director of Culinary and Beverage.

From September 16 through November 15, diners will be treated to an exquisite culinary journey as Chef DaSilva presents a series of dishes crafted by four esteemed chefs she deeply admires.

These delectable creations will be featured on the menu for two weeks each, allowing guests to savor the unique flavors and styles of a diverse selection of culinary talents.

The heart of Paula’s Food Diaries lies in its tribute to a stellar roster of illustrious chefs whose culinary prowess has left an indelible mark on the gastronomic world.

To kick things off in a delicious manner, guests are invited to indulge in Emeril Lagasse’s New Orleans-style Barbecue Shrimp ($38), one of the celebrated chef’s signature recipes available September 16 – 30.

The next dish featured as part of the initiative is Cat Cora’s exquisite Braised Short Ribs ($42) with Potato Puree, Asparagus Salsa Verde, and Charred Artichoke Hearts available October 1 – 15, followed by Alon Shaya’s Whole Roasted Cauliflower ($14) available October 16 – 31, honoring the chef’s Israeli roots.

Rounding things off November 1 – 15 will be chef Stephanie Izard’s Grilled Branzino ($48), a mouthwatering seafood selection that brings a spark of heat to the table with the addition of Izard’s spicy Chili Crunch.

Diners can anticipate an array of flavors, techniques, and presentations that mirror gastronomic innovation through the use of diverse ingredients. 

This limited time offering provides a rare opportunity to savor masterpieces created by four of the food world’s biggest names.

As a national TV personality, Emeril Lagasse has hosted more than 2,000 shows on the Food Network and was a food correspondent for ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Most notably, Amazon launched an original series featuring Lagasse called Eat the World with Emeril Lagasse, which received five daytime Emmy nominations and won Outstanding Culinary Program. 

Lagasse is the bestselling author of 19 cookbooks, as well as the chef/proprietor of 9 restaurants, including three in New Orleans (Emeril’s, Meril and Emeril’s Table at the MSY Airport); two in Las Vegas (Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House and Delmonico Steakhouse); one in Miramar Beach, Florida (Emeril’s Coastal); and his three restaurants at sea, Emeril’s Bistro 1396 on Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras ship, Emeril’s Bistro 1397 on Carnival Celebration and Emeril’s Bistro 717 on Carnival Jubilee.

Equally celebrated, Cora has opened more than 18 restaurants across the United States and globally, highlighting her platform on health, wellness and sustainability.

She is the President/Founder of Chefs for Humanity, a non-profit dedicated to reducing hunger worldwide, as well as Ambassador of Little Kitchen Academy, a Montessori-style culinary school for ages 3-teen.

The Jackson, Mississippi native most recently won Fox Network’s competition show “The Real Dirty Dancing” and is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama. 

Shaya, for his part, is a Chef-Partner of Pomegranate Hospitality, which includes notable restaurants Saba in New Orleans, Safta in Denver, and both Miss River and Chandelier Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans.

The Israeli-born, Philadelphia-bred chef is a multiple James Beard Foundation Award winner, having been named Best Chef: South in 2015, and his restaurant won Best New Restaurant the following year.

He was named one of the “50 People Who Are Changing the South” by Southern Living and one of the “50 Most Influential Jews in America” by The Forward.

His first book, Shaya: An Odyssey of Food, My Journey Back to Israel, was published in 2018. 

Izard, recipient of James Beard Best Chef: Great Lakes and Food & Wine Best New Chef, is the Executive Chef and Owner of Girl & the Goat, Little Goat, Duck Duck Goat, and Cabra in Chicago, along with Girl & the Goat and Cabra in Los Angeles.

Izard also won the coveted title of Iron Chef in 2017 and was the 4th winner of Bravo’s Top Chef.

Izard recently jumped back into television with the release of The Curious Chef, a Tastemade series where she visits home cooks to get a taste of their time-honored recipes.

Her colorful, vibrant retail product line, This Little Goat features a variety of globally inspired, flavor-packed sauces, spices, and crunches.

Paula’s Food Diaries promises to captivate the palates and imaginations of food enthusiasts, creating unforgettable dining experiences that reflect the richness and diversity of the culinary world.

Burlock Coast is located at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale at 1 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard.

The marketplace is open daily from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. Breakfast is served daily from 7 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
