Blossom Seafood Restaurant Richmond - Dim Sum [Review]

A while back, we tried out Blossom Seafood Restaurant in Richmond for dim sum.

The prices were higher as per the dim sum standard now. Classic dim sum dishes around $9 – $10. Fried rice and noodle dishes around $27 – $29. Tea charge $2 per person.

We got prawn dumplings ($9.80); beef rice roll ($8.80); jelly fish beef shank ($18.80); pan fried fish paste with crepes ($8.80); deep fried salt and pepper squid ($16.80) and tea charge $4 for 2 people. Total was $70.35 for 2 people before tip.

The food was reasonable and everything was solid. Perhaps the presentation was slightly better than some other places. Service was OK.

The interior was spacious and looked generally clean and organized. The only thing was that it was noisy to me and it seemed like the acoustics were just reflecting back into the restaurant. From the noisy clanging of dishes being transported and handled at the table to the chatter of the diners, I just thought the noise was booming. I thought it was me but I checked Google reviews and there was one that also mentioned the restaurant seemed noisy.

I probably wouldn’t return just because I didn’t like the ambiance/acoustics of the restaurant but the food was alright. Pricey dim sum as seen nowadays.
