Avenue 26 may look like a no-frills taco stand, but this eatery happens to serve some of the best tacos in Los Angeles if not the entire nation.

Avenue 26’s main location is in Little Tokyo (353 S Almeda) but we visited their newest location in Eagle Rock at 1033 Neola Street.

There is no written menu, no price list, cash only. You just tell them what kind of meat you want and how you want it served. The tacos are $2 each.
One of the most delicious menu items is the tacos al pastor, but even the most underrated menu items, like the cabeza or bucha, are incredible.
Some tacos come with potatoes cooked in beef fat, making them extra flavorful and tender.
We tried one of each option: al pastor, chorizo, chicken, beef cheek, pork belly, brisket, and carne asada. My favorite was the al pastor!

Don’t forget to quench your thirst with an agua fresca, which tastes refreshing on a hot day and is never too sweet.
This stand has no seating, so be prepared to eat in the parking lot or in your car.
