McHappy Day Canada 2026 Returns May 6

McDonald’s Canada is bringing back McHappy Day on May 6, inviting Canadians to turn everyday orders into support for families with critically ill children.

The annual initiative connects customers with community impact through a simple premise. Every order placed on McHappy Day contributes to fundraising efforts for Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada and other local children’s charities. The program has raised more than $111 million nationwide over the years, supporting families who need to stay close to hospitals while their children receive treatment.

Support extends across 37 Ronald McDonald House program locations in Canada. These spaces provide accommodation, meals, and wellness resources so families can remain together during extended medical stays. In the past year alone, more than 32,000 families from nearly 2,900 communities accessed these services, reflecting the ongoing demand for care and housing near treatment centres.

Participation is straightforward. On May 6, customers can order any menu item through dine-in, Drive-Thru, the McDonald’s app, or delivery platforms including DoorDash, Skip, and Uber Eats. Select delivery partners are offering a $0 delivery fee for McDelivery orders placed through their apps on that day, with standard service fees still applying.

Fundraising efforts extend beyond a single day. Throughout the month, customers can round up their orders to the nearest dollar in restaurant or through self-serve kiosks, with the difference donated to Ronald McDonald House programs. Guests can also purchase McHappy Day Socks or make contributions through McHappy Day Hearts, available in multiple denominations through participating locations and the McDonald’s app.

For families navigating long-term medical care, these contributions help offset the cost of staying near hospitals while maintaining a sense of routine. The program continues to rely on community participation to meet growing demand and expand access to support services across the country.

Sharing is caring!
