Din Tai Fung will debut a new dessert, Shaved Snow with Fresh Mango, at their Vancouver location on Tuesday, September 9. The launch marks the first new menu item in years and the restaurant’s first-ever cold dessert.

The Taiwanese-inspired creation features soft, fluffy shaved snow made with whole milk, topped with fresh mango and finished with a drizzle of Din Tai Fung’s signature sweet and tart mango sauce along with creamy condensed milk.

Since being introduced in the US earlier this summer, the dessert has already become a customer favourite, ranking as the restaurant’s second most popular sweet after the Chocolate and Mochi Xiao Long Bao. Many guests have been ordering both, reflecting a growing appetite for multiple desserts per meal.

The Vancouver restaurant, which opened in May, is the newest of Din Tai Fung’s 165 locations across 13 countries.

Guests can now enjoy the refreshing shaved snow alongside the restaurant’s signature dishes such as Pork Xiao Long Bao, Pork Chop Fried Rice, and more.

We really enjoyed our visit and had the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao; Pork Chop Fried Rice; Taiwanese Cabbage with Garlic; Honey Lemonade; and Fresh Orange Green Iced Tea.
