Kellogg’s Diner, a beloved Brooklyn landmark, has reopened in Williamsburg with an updated menu and a refreshed interior. The 75-seat diner, located at 518 Metropolitan Avenue, now features a modernized look from the design duo Nico Arze and Matthew Maddy, alongside a new menu curated by Executive Chef Jackie Carnesi. Carnesi, formerly of Nura, combines classic American diner favorites with Texan influences, offering a contemporary take on traditional dishes.

The menu is a testament to Carnesi’s culinary expertise, featuring a variety of appetizers such as Chipotle Honey Wings, Deviled Eggs, and Fried Pickles with ranch. Soups and salads include a Chicken Noodle Soup and a Cilantro Caesar with queso fresco and croutons. The sandwich section boasts a range of options, from a classic BLT with herb mayo to a Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich with dill pickles and slaw. For vegetarians, the Veggie Burger, served with cashew crema and pickled onions on sourdough, is a standout.

Main courses include hearty options like Poblano Meatloaf with chipotle glaze and mashed potatoes, and Baby Back Ribs with sticky BBQ sauce, German potato salad, and collard greens. The Tex-Mex Enchiladas, stuffed with cheddar and jack cheese and topped with red chili gravy, offer a taste of Carnesi’s Texas roots. Breakfast, served all day, features dishes like Cornmeal Masa Pancakes and Texas French Toast, crusted in cornflakes and served with syrup, cream cheese whip, and house-made seasonal fruit jam.

Pastry Chef Amanda Perdomo complements the savory menu with creative desserts such as the Red Eye Chocolate Cake and the Passion Fruit Tajin Icebox Pie. There is also an array of sundaes, including the Chocolate Mint Brownie Sundae and Jay’s Caramel Banana Cookie Swirl Sundae, which promise a sweet finish to any meal.

The beverage program, developed by Bar Director Chris Amirault, offers inventive cocktails that reflect the diverse cultural influences of New York City. Highlights include a reimagined Cosmopolitan with lychee and cherry blossom sake, and a Screwdriver-Paloma hybrid made with tequila, orange sherbet, and pasilla chili. The selection of beers and wines adds to the extensive drink options.

The redesigned interior honors the diner’s history while incorporating modern elements. Terrazzo, glass, mirrors, and stainless steel create a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The curved ceiling and warm lighting evoke the classic diner experience, making it a comfortable spot for locals and visitors alike.
