This October, The Setai Miami Beach is expanding its culinary offerings with the launch of Japón, a new restaurant that elevates the hotel’s dining experience. Joining the renowned Jaya and Ocean Grill, Japón promises to bring the authentic flavors of Japan to Miami with a refined, immersive dining experience. Guests can enjoy a blend of traditional and contemporary Japanese cuisine set against a stunning backdrop of elegant design and cultural motifs.

A Unique Dining Concept
Japón offers more than just food; it provides a journey through Japanese culture. The restaurant’s centerpiece is ‘The Kyoto Room,’ an exclusive private dining area for up to 14 guests. With its own private bar and entrance, this space is adorned with Japanese artwork and traditional motifs, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere. This room reflects the cultural essence of Kyoto, providing a transformative dining experience that is both luxurious and authentic.

Upon entering the main restaurant, guests are greeted by the majestic “Tsuru” crane motif, a symbol of happiness and good fortune in Japanese tradition. This elegant design element sets the tone for the entire dining experience, enriching the ambiance with layers of cultural meaning and sophistication.
Culinary Highlights
Under the guidance of Executive Chef Vijayudu Veena and Executive Sous-Chef Ivàn Monzón, the menu at Japón is a celebration of Japan’s culinary heritage. Each dish is crafted using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients, offering a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. Highlights include the Chilean Sea Bass with charred tomato miso and Lamb Chops, along with a diverse selection of freshly sourced sushi and sashimi.

Complementing the food is an extensive collection of rare sakes, a premier wine list, and innovative cocktails. Signature drinks like the Fuji Blossom, made with Fuji apple-infused vodka and Joto Yuzu sake, and the Wasabi Martini featuring cucumber and wasabi-infused vodka, provide a modern twist on traditional Japanese flavors.
Exquisite Design and Ambiance
The design of Japón, crafted by Saladino Design Studios, is a seamless blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and contemporary luxury. The interior features undulating wooden patterns, custom porcelain tiles, and Japanese artwork, creating a visually captivating space. The outdoor courtyard, framed by a striking Japanese pagoda, offers a serene setting for alfresco dining, with hand-painted murals and a stunning water feature enhancing the tranquil atmosphere.
The restaurant’s design reflects the rich cultural heritage of Japan, while also providing a modern, elegant dining environment. Guests can enjoy a unique experience that combines the best of Japanese art and culinary craftsmanship.
