New York City’s streets are about to start looking very different soon following the city’s ordinance for permits for the outdoor dining areas set up by restaurants as a response to the pandemic. While the structures and sheds start to disappear there are a few places in NYC that still have offerings, including The Standard, East Village.
The Garden
Nestled away in the unassuming and artistic neighborhood that is the East Village, The Standard, East Village’s primary outdoor dining space, The Garden is an oasis. Sandwiched between the hotel’s original tenement-style building and its brick wall, The Garden’s decadent greenery transports you out of the hustle of the city. Open daily for dinner and on the weekends for brunch, the menu is composed of traditional American fare with The Standard touch.

Café Standard
For those more focused on one of NYC’s greatest pastimes, people watching, look no further than Café Standard. Situated at the front of the property the charming streetside bistro inspired venue offers a fully and partially outdoor dining experience that on-looks the bustling street, Cooper Square – Bowery before it turns into 3rd ave. Open daily all day with a new special lunch happy hour in addition to a traditional happy hour and brunch on the weekends, Café Standard’s menu is similar to The Garden’s with a few times throughout the day to catch a good deal and a glimpse of NYC hustle.
