Bohemien Bar is the most recent passion project from Husband-and-Wife team, Tarek Debira, (formerly at Hotel Costes in Paris and Nobu London) and Patricia Ageheim, (formerly at Bond St. and Indochine), who have an extensive resumé in the fine dining and the hospitality world.

The pair also owns one of Brooklyn Heights’ most celebrated speakeasies Le Boudoir and beloved French bistro Chez Moi. Their passion and attention to detail come to life at Bohemien Bar, where they combine a high-fidelity listening experience with meticulously crafted cocktails and a chef-curated menu.
The bar is outfitted for audiophiles, with a custom speaker system designed by Perry Brandston, known for his work across New York restaurants, nightclubs, and art installations.
The strategically placed speakers are hand-built by Pete Raho, owner of Gowanus Audio who specializes in bespoke speakers.
The design creates a unique experience, where sound can travel without bouncing off surfaces, making for clear, crisp audio without compromising ease of conversation.

Custom floor-to-ceiling speakers stand tall at the front of the bar, each with 132 individual drivers, as well as two Altec Model 17s with 604 8G drivers and over a dozen open-baffle pendants hanging from the ceiling to fill the space.
A DJ booth is tucked near the front of the restaurant, where local and international DJs will showcase their music genre. The playlists are curated by Tarek, in consultation with Shawn Schwartz of celebrated record store Halcyon, and founder of award-winning nightclub Output in Williamsburg.

The menu is curated by Executive Chef Steven Barrantes (formerly Executive Sous Chef at Times Square Edition Hotel and Restaurant Daniel), who has created a menu that matches the sophistication and artistry of the cocktails and will feature a selection of Small Bites, including roasted pistachios and marinated olives. Vegetable options include Crudités with tofu green goddess dip; Honey Nut Squash with pumpkin seed and goat cheese; and Beet Dip. Cheese selection highlights Baked Brie with herbs du Provence. From Land & Sea, Duck Flatbread with leeks, accompanied by smoked gouda; Lamb Chops with mint yogurt; and Tuna on a Crisp with yellowfin tuna and truffle aioli. Dessert choice of warm Chocolate Ganache Cake and Crème Brulée Cheesecake.

The cocktail menu undoubtedly steals the show with drinks presented in eclectic glassware, reflecting the artistic and fun nature of Bohemien Bar. The Birdy Num Num is served in a hand-blown bird-shaped coupe-glass, and is a gin-based cocktail, with sugar snap pea, jasmine tea, and peach, topped with cava; The Felix Felicis intricately blends green Chartreuse, sherry, cava, and lemongrass, adding 24-karat gold flakes into the drink upon serving; The Naima is a bright cocktail presented in a vampire glass, consisting of vodka, sauternes, peach, lemon, sage, and kefir and the Espresso Martini is a delicate mélange of vodka, Mr. Black liqueur, La Colombe espresso, bitters, and coconut water, topped with a photogenic smoke bubble.
The space, designed by Tarek and Patricia, emulates a mid-century Scandinavian style, paying homage to Patricia’s background and heritage. Anchoring the space is a custom, horseshoe bar, topped with white marble, accompanied by 20 ash and light wood cushioned barstools. A levitated rattan shelf with gold hardware hangs above the bar, displaying their prolific selection of spirits and hanging greenery. The lighting and natural tones create a warm setting for the acoustic experience. Bohemien Bar has two semi-private sections that can be reserved for parties of up to 25.
Bohemien Bar is located at 97 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
