Bronzeville Winery is an important part of the Bronzeville neighborhood’s social fabric.

Shortly after opening in April of last year, it became increasingly clear that the establishment was about even more than its world-class food and wine – It was about the purpose behind the business and its goal to further cultural and social dialogue, and to celebrate the incredibly vibrant community of Bronzeville.
With this always in mind, Owners Eric Williams and Cecilia Cuff announced a new series in collaboration with famed Chicago urban historian Dilla, featuring a bi-weekly Sunday tour of Bronzeville accompanied by a tasting of wine and spirits from Bronzeville Winery.

Dilla, who’s expertise has sparked interest in Chicago’s rich history nationwide, is known for his unique storytelling and ability to make history exciting to everyone.
The 2-hour Magic of The Metropolis tour coming up on Sunday, October 15th will begin at Bronzeville Winery at 2:30 p.m. where tourgoers will enjoy a selection of fine wine and spirits, most of them from minority and female-owned producers.

Next, Dilla will escort the group onto a plush charter, and they’ll depart for a truly unique historic tour of Bronzeville.
A perfect “Sunday Funday” to enjoy with family and friends, the group will explore the neighborhood whose name represents resistance and the efforts of a community to define itself on its own terms after the great migration.
From beaches to famous bungalows, this excursion will provide a visual storytelling experience about the rich history of Bronzeville, aka the Black Metropolis, courtesy of Dilla.
He will take guests on a deep dive into stories including:
- Notable Bronzeville residents (Louis Armstrong, Quincy Jones, and many more)
- Bronzeville sports legends such as Jesse Owens
- A dynamic variety of places and spaces that invoke Bronzeville’s longstanding reign as a cultural powerhouse, here in Chicago and beyond.
The tour will end with a celebratory closing cocktail or glass of wine at Bronzeville Winery and offers the opportunity for guests to add dinner on to their ticket purchase, which includes a 3-course dinner from nationally acclaimed Chef Lamar Moore and Bronzeville’s weekly Sunday LIVE Jazz music at 5 p.m.
All tourgoers will also be gifted a 1-month membership to Bronzeville Winery’s Wine Collective, and a gift certificate to local cultural hub, The Silver Room.
Tickets for Magic of the Metropolis tour are now available.
Seats per tour are limited, with tours dates announced for every other Sunday.
