Halloween in LA 2022: Things to Do, Activities for Los Angeles

Here’s a look at what is happening for Halloween in LA 2022.

Boo at the L.A. Zoo

The Halloween spirit will be in full swing at the L.A. Zoo until October 31 daily from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., where you can enjoy spooktacular sights. Free with paid Zoo admission or GLAZA membership.

Weekends are even sweeter, with treats like open-air live shows, animal pumpkin feedings, themed photo ops, education stations, and much more.

On the last two weekends of the month (October 22/23 and 29/30), enjoy trick or treating stations featuring candies courtesy of our proud partner, Mars. Costumes are encouraged!

Highlights include:

  • Make your way down a mysterious path of hauntingly festive décor for some hair-raising photo ops.
  • Explore the Zoo to find wacky, creepy, or funny facts about some of your favorite animals and those that might be new to you.
  • Witness a mad scientist conjuring spine-tingling experiments, bubbling potions, and other fun surprises in his spirited lab.

Carved at Descanso Gardens

Carved is a family-friendly event happening until October 31 featuring hundreds of carved pumpkins lining the Camellia Forest.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than before, with all kinds of new activities.

Along with the pumpkins, the ever-popular pumpkin house, hay maze, and holiday-themed food and beverages will return.

Guests can also enjoy UV “black light” experiences, artists sculpting pumpkins, and a special Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) installation at the Amphitheater.

Carved tickets are $20–$26 for Descanso Gardens members, $32–$38 for non-members.

Tina’s Pumpkin Patch

Join the fun at Tina’s Pumpkin Patch until October 31. Free admission and parking. Additional activities for a cost include Train Ride; Bounter; Slide; Obstacle Course and so forth.

Six Flags Magic Mountain

Kids Boo Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain is on until October 31 featuring daytime and nighttime activities.

Explore all your family favorite coasters and park rides together in the daylight at Six Flags Magic. Enjoy the family-friendly classic adventure of trick-or-treat in Bugs Bunny World select days through Oct. 31. Fuel your thrill with these limited time offer.

Fright Fest takes place at night starting at 7pm featuring Haunted Houses, Scare Zones, Monster-tainment and more. Recommended for guests 13 and over.

Cemetery Lane

The Cemetery Lane Trick-R-Treat Experience takes place on select dates from October 19 – 30 at Heritage Square Los Angeles.

Explore a neighborhood of Victorian manors and haunted houses where the neighbors are dying to celebrate Halloween. Trick-R-Treat from 13 spooky stops and discover the mysteries of Cemetery Lane during this throwback to vintage Halloween experiences. Tickets are priced $27-$32.

A portion of each ticket sale will go toward the preservation efforts of Heritage Square Museum. Price includes one plastic trick or treat bag per ticket purchase. Commemorative cloth bags are also available for purchase within the ticket purchase page. Toddlers under two years of age are admitted free with adult paid admission-one child per adult.

Cemetery Lane is spooky but safe — no jump scares, but eerie with ghostly sights and creepy characters. While intended for all ages, the event is less scary during our daytime hours, and gets spookier as the night goes on.

Boonion Station

This Halloween in LA 2022 season, the Union Station LA’s South Patio will be the scene of a fiendishly fun festival of ghosts and goblins at the 4th annual Boonion Station – a free, two-day, family-friendly extravaganza at the historic downtown destination.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 29, and Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

The freaky festivities will feature eerily enchanting activities for families including an interactive haunted hay maze, spooky slime sessions, fabulously fun face painting, creepy crafting and pumpkin decorating and a host of howling stilt walkers and Halloween characters determined to delight even the littlest of monsters.

You can also relax in the pumpkin patch picnic area while enjoying a selection of Halloween food specials from the station’s diverse eateries.

The treats-on-track trail happens at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. daily, delivering a dose of sugar to kids and parents alike. Guests can also “boo-gie” down with a spooky spin on some Halloween favorites at a series of monster mash dance parties or don costumes for the creepy & clever costume parade and contest at 3 p.m. each day. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: most original, funniest, scariest and best group/family costume.

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

Experience the world-famous Los Angeles Haunted Hayride for Halloween in LA 2022 with tickets starting at $29.99. This year’s attractions include the Hayride; the Town Square of Midnigh Falls; Local Mortuary and more.
