HOT POT Master in Vancouver BC Canada is the local outpost of the 钢管厂五区小郡肝串串香火锅 hot pot chain founded in Chengdu, China. They specialize in skewer-style hot pot where items are prepared as a “bite size” on bamboo skewers.

This style of hot pot allows guests to try many individual items instead of ordering entire plates of the same thing.

There are fridges in the back of the restaurant where you choose the raw ingredients that will go into your hot pot. There are many choices ranging from individual skewers to plated sets.








The skewers are priced at $0.69 each but one item might be packaged as multiple skewers. The plated items come in colored plates which correspond to their price.
We were invited for a media tasting and we paid out-of-pocket for some extras.
We went with a tomato soup base and tried a variety of skewers including Marinated Beef; Beef & Celery; Fish Tofu; Fish Roe Bag; Lobster Ball; Squid; Frog Leg; King Oyster Mushroom and so forth. There was also the Shrimp Paste; Snakehead Fish Slices; Hand-Crafted Mushrooms; and Assorted Greens. We also tried the New Zealand Lamb Slices and the Deep Fried Pork Snacks.














We didn’t go for the sauce bar but they have one available at an extra cost.

I would describe the interior as being decorated with artwork that has a style similar to that from 1960s-1980s Chinese Communist Party era but without any political references.

They offer Happy Hour Mon – Thurs 5-9pm and Weekends 12-5pm for 20% off.
