Plaza Premium Lounge YVR Domestic Departures: Food & Drinks

Plaza Premium Lounge at Vancouver International Airport offers lounge access with food, drinks and seating for travellers, regardless of their airline or ticket class. I visited the one in the Domestic terminal at Pier C and had a look at their breakfast selection, beverage options and posted admission rates.

Breakfast Setup

The breakfast setup was compact, with hot dishes beside a glass pastry display. Scrambled Eggs and Maple Sausage Pork were labelled at the warming stations, while croissants, pastries and sliced bread were arranged nearby. A toaster was available beside the buffet.

The selection covered a straightforward breakfast, with eggs and sausage for a more substantial plate and bread or pastries for something smaller. Golden croissants filled the upper display, with white and brown sliced bread on the shelf below.

Food offerings can change throughout the day, so this breakfast selection reflects what was available during my visit.

Beverage Area

The self-service beverage area had a coffee dispenser, cups and glasses beside a fountain drink machine. Options included Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7UP, Brisk Lemon Iced Tea, and Dole Orange and Cranberry drinks.

The bar menu separated complimentary house pours from premium drinks available at an extra charge. During my visit, the included beer options were Steamworks Lager and Steamworks Pale Ale.

The house wine list included Okanagan Vineyards VQA Cabernet Merlot, Sumac Ridge Cellar Selection Merlot and Chardonnay, and Inniskillin Okanagan VQA Pinot Grigio. House spirits were also listed, including Smirnoff No. 21, Gordon’s London Dry Gin, Captain Morgan White Rum and Canadian Club.

Premium options included Guinness, sparkling wine, selected spirits and cocktails such as a Plaza Caesar and Mimosa. Check the menu during your visit for current selections and additional charges.

Lounge Prices

The admission sign displayed the following rates during my visit, in Canadian dollars.

  • Two hours, $65 per person or $52 for Smart Traveller members.
  • Three hours, $79 per person or $63 for Smart Traveller members.
  • Six hours, $106 per person or $85 for Smart Traveller members.

The sign advertised 20% off walk-in rates for Smart Traveller members.

These are the photographed rates, rather than a current booking quote. Plaza Premium’s website currently lists YVR Plaza Premium Lounge visits from CAD $68. Confirm pricing for your chosen location, date and visit length before booking.

Finding the Lounge at YVR

YVR has Plaza Premium Lounge locations serving domestic, international and US departures. Choose the lounge that corresponds to your departure area when making a reservation.

The international departures lounge is currently listed on Level 4 of Pier D, between Gates D67 and D68, adjacent to the food court and duty-free shopping area. Their listed amenities include Wi-Fi, charging stations, food and beverages, and shower facilities. Shower charges may apply, subject to availability.

Plaza Premium First is a separate lounge offering in the same international departures area, so check the lounge name when booking.

Planning a Visit

For travellers considering paid access, the main question is how much time they will have to use the lounge. A breakfast stop and a place to sit may be useful during a longer wait, while a short gap before boarding leaves less time to make use of the admission.

Compare the current entry price with your expected food and drink spending, and allow enough time to reach your gate.
