Bar Leone in Hong Kong has been named the World’s Best Bar for the second consecutive year in the 2026 ranking. The annual selection features venues across 26 cities, with 14 new entries and recognition for cocktail menus, hospitality, sustainability and bar design.
Moebius Milano in Milan ranks No. 2 and receives the Best Bar in Europe title. Alquímico in Cartagena takes No. 3 and is named the Best Bar in South America.
Bar Leone’s approach draws on the neighbourhood bars of Rome’s Trastevere district. Co-founder Lorenzo Antinori and his team centre their drinks program on well-executed classics with Italian influences, served in an informal space with wood finishes, vintage décor and football memorabilia.
The bar’s Cocktail Popolari philosophy translates as cocktails for the people. Food offerings include Smoked Olives and a Mortadella Sandwich, complementing the drinks program.
Hong Kong, New York and Paris each have four bars in the top 50, tying them as the most represented cities. Hong Kong’s entries are Bar Leone, Argo, Montana and Gokan. Paris is represented by The Cambridge Public House, Bar Nouveau, De Vie and Danico.
New York’s four entries are Schmuck, Sip & Guzzle, Martiny’s and Bar Snack. Schmuck enters at No. 11 and receives the Best New Opening Award.
Bangkok has three bars in the selection, led by Bar Us at No. 4. Dry Wave Cocktail Studio enters at No. 27, and BKK Social Club ranks No. 30. Seoul’s Zest places No. 7.
Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy ranks No. 6 and receives the Best Bar in North America title. Bar Mauro enters at No. 10, earning the Highest New Entry Award, and Tlecān ranks No. 47.
The Bar in Front of the Bar in Athens rises 28 places to No. 19, receiving the Highest Climber Award. Line, another Athens venue, ranks No. 5 and receives the Sustainable Bar Award for their work with fermentation, circular production and zero-waste practices.
The special awards recognise Shingo Gokan with the Industry Icon Award and Paradiso in Barcelona with the Legend of the List Award. Panda & Sons in Edinburgh receives the Best Cocktail Menu Award for Transcend, and Saikindō in Abu Dhabi receives the Best Bar Design Award.
Three Horses in Melbourne receives the One to Watch Award. Ecuador’s Isa Mejia is awarded the 50 Best Bars Scholarship, with internships at Line in Athens and Tres Monos in Buenos Aires.
