Asahi Super Dry has teamed up with Canadian chef Susur Lee for a limited-edition ramen and a run of Tokyo Nights in Vancouver and Toronto.

The collaboration centres on Lee’s Super Dry Ramen, created to be served with the Japanese beer. The recipe has not been released yet, so details about the broth, noodles and toppings remain under wraps.
The ramen will debut at a private dinner with Lee at Lee Restaurant in Toronto this September. A small group of guests will be invited to attend and try the dish. Contest details will be posted on the Asahi Super Dry Canada Instagram account.
The Tokyo Nights series takes inspiration from Tokyo’s listening bars and late-night venues. Expect DJs, food, drinks, merchandise and Japanese-inspired programming, with each participating space taking on a different look and atmosphere for the evening.
Vancouver’s next event is happening at Pizza Coming Soon in Chinatown on Thursday, August 27. Despite the name, the East Pender Street spot is a Japanese snack bar serving small plates and drinks in a colourful former diner.
The series continues at Lala on Wednesday, September 9. Found below June on Cambie, the small basement bar is built around vinyl records, late-night cocktails and Japanese influences.
Banter Room in Yaletown will host Tokyo Nights on Thursday, September 10, followed by The Keefer Bar in Chinatown on Thursday, September 17.
Toronto dates include Soluna on Friday, August 28 and Bar Mordecai on Wednesday, September 9. The campaign will wrap up with the private Susur Lee dinner later in September.
