Subway Canada has launched the SubDog, a limited-time footlong hot dog built with a half-pound all-beef Schneiders hot dog, Subway bread, and customizable toppings.

The new menu item brings a summer hot dog into Subway’s build-your-own format, giving guests the option to order it with their choice of bread, vegetables, sauces, and classic hot dog condiments.
Available at participating Subway restaurants across Canada starting June 29, 2026, the SubDog is part of a summer campaign that taps into hot dog season, baseball culture, and the ongoing debate over whether a hot dog counts as a sandwich.
The SubDog is made with a half-pound all-beef Schneiders hot dog and served in Subway’s footlong format. Guests can keep it simple with ketchup and mustard, or build it like a sub with lettuce, tomatoes, sauces, and other toppings available in the restaurant.
The launch gives Subway Canada a playful seasonal menu item that connects the familiarity of a stadium-style hot dog with the brand’s customizable sandwich experience. For guests who already have a go-to Subway order, the SubDog offers a different way to use the same topping bar.
The item is arriving during peak summer dining season, when hot dogs are tied to backyard meals, road trips, and baseball games. Subway Canada is connecting that timing to their ongoing partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays through a national contest.
Until August 31, 2026, guests who purchase a SubDog will receive a unique PIN for the Big Swing Sweepstakes. The contest includes weekly prizes, with all entries going into a grand prize draw for an exclusive Toronto Blue Jays game weekend experience.
The SubDog is available for a limited time at participating Subway Canada restaurants nationwide. Guests can order in restaurant, through Subway Canada, or on the Subway app.
