The Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver has begun a multi-year renovation that will gradually update guest rooms and amenities through to 2029, with the first phase now complete and available for booking.

The initial stage introduces 96 redesigned guest rooms across the hotel’s top four floors, marking a shift in the property’s overall design direction. The updated spaces reflect a more contemporary interpretation of the hotel’s coastal setting, drawing from the surrounding harbour, mountains, and forest landscape. Each room now includes a 65-inch HD television and a flexible table setup in place of a traditional desk, allowing guests to use the space for work, dining, or relaxation.
The redesign also incorporates the Fairmont Signature Bed alongside upgraded bath amenities from Le Labo, bringing a consistent level of comfort across the refreshed rooms. Materials and finishes were selected to reflect the West Coast environment, with natural wood tones, stone-inspired surfaces, and woven textiles contributing to a quieter, more cohesive interior.

The renovation will extend beyond guest rooms over the next several years. Plans include updates to all 489 rooms, as well as enhancements to Fairmont Gold, the lobby, rooftop pool area, and ARC Restaurant + Bar. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Montreal-based design firm CAMDI, which is leading the visual and spatial transformation.
Fairmont Waterfront has long been recognized for their harbourfront location and proximity to key attractions such as Canada Place, Gastown, and the Stanley Park Seawall. The hotel’s rooftop garden and bee program will remain part of the guest experience, continuing to support the on-site culinary program at ARC.
The next phase of renovations is scheduled to begin in fall 2026, with additional guest rooms expected to be released in spring 2027. Guests can now reserve the newly updated rooms through the hotel’s official booking platform.
