Bodega Taqueria y Tequila has opened its latest establishment in Coral Gables, at 317 Miracle Mile. This marks the brand’s eighth location nationwide and strengthens its foothold in South Florida as its sixth iteration. The Coral Gables outpost stands out as the brand’s first hybrid concept in the region, after having recently debuted in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, introducing an all-day neighborhood bar format and cocktail and mezcal experience. Notably, this new concept does not feature the speakeasy-style lounge found in Bodega’s flagship locations; instead, it focuses on creating a more accessible and casual experience while offering the same authentic Mexican street food, innovative cocktails and daily programming that fans have come to know and love about the iconic brand to appeal to the locals-driven location.

The Coral Gables location brings together the celebrated taqueria’s extensive menu served from the brand’s signature retrofitted airstream in a shared space with its lively bar, offering both indoor and outdoor seating alongside rotating DJ sets. It’s the place to be for an invigorating cocktail experience, as the brand introduces new margaritas and cocktails for both the main bar and its Mezcaleria, which the brand first debuted at its Coconut Grove location. Venture to the back and find the intimate 506-square-foot Mezcaleria, that accommodates up to 26 guests, and serves as a haven for cocktail enthusiasts; offering a unique program that highlights an extensive selection of high-end tequilas and mezcals, complemented with the introduction of an elevated small bites menu.
Working with a variety of agave-based brands and local flavors, the addition of more than 10 new cocktails reflects Bodega’s commitment to creating a beverage program that is truly unique and authentic to the brand. Guests can indulge in an array of imaginative margaritas, such as the Banana Mezcal with Nuestra Soledad San Luis mezcal, Giffard Banane du Brasil, lime, agave, and plantain chips; and the Melon Ball that includes Maestro Dobel Silver, Midori Melon, lime, agave, and aquafaba. The El Rico with its blend of Tequila Ocho Extra Anejo and Vago Ensamble mezcal with amaro, egg whites and edible gold showcases the creative depth of the menu. Brand aficionados can expect to find Bodega’s signature Cafecito and Love Me, F*ck Me shots, plus new Zero Proof cocktails for those who wish to enjoy their beverages alcohol-free but still packed with flavor. The Mezcaleria will also offer a treasure trove of new and unique concoctions, such as the Elote with Mezcal Vago Elote infused with charred pineapple, lemon, egg white, hot honey, and a pineapple smoked hatch chile salt rim; as well as rotating chalkboard specials and tequila flights.

Bodega Coral Gables will introduce the brand’s signature weekly programming including “Margarita Mondays” with $5 frozen and house margaritas; “Taco Tuesdays” featuring three for $11 classic tacos; and a daily Happy Hour from 4 to 7 p.m. that will surely appeal to the Gables’ post-work crowd. The Mezcaleria will become a highlight on Thursday nights with its “Flight Night,” featuring the bartender’s choice of mezcal and tequila flights.
As Bodega Taqueria y Tequila approaches its 10th anniversary milestone this year, it continues to flourish with a portfolio of eight locations across South Florida and other major cities in the United States, including two in Chicago; and additional anticipated openings in Washington D.C. and Nashville. Additionally, Bodega is set to enhance the sports and dining experience with a lounge at Hard Rock Stadium’s East End Zone Suite, slated to open Summer 2024 in time for the upcoming NFL season. The brand’s strategic growth plan indicates that this is just the beginning, with more ambitious expansions anticipated in the coming years.
