The highly anticipated San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival is set to return November 8 – 12, 2023.
Celebrating its 19th year as the premier food + wine event on the West Coast — and the only one to occur simultaneously in two countries — this year is shaping up to be the most exciting in the festival’s history, bringing together the finest chefs, Food Network stars, cookbook authors, world-renowned winemakers, purveyors, notable tastemakers, and food enthusiasts from San Diego, Baja, and beyond to celebrate the binational cultural diversity and rich culinary scene of San Diego’s bioregion.
Recognized as the Best Wine Festival by USA TODAY in the 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards 2023, and set amidst the beautiful coastal scenery of America’s Finest City, the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival will welcome over 11,000 wine and food enthusiasts for a five-day, flavor-packed celebration filled with a schedule of dynamic programming that will include specially curated dining opportunities, educational talks, immersive hands-on experiences, culminating in an incredible weekend featuring the annual Grand Decant on Friday, November 10th, the Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 11th, and the Grand Fiesta on Sunday, November 12th.
An exceptional gathering of culinary trailblazers including chefs Suzette Gresham (Aquerello, San Francisco), Roberto Alcocer (Malva, Valle de Guadalupe and Valle, Oceanside), Eric Bost (Campfire + Jeune et Jolie, Carlsbad), Travis Swikard (Callie, San Diego), Claudia Sandoval (Master Chef Latino), Marcela Valladolid (Food Network), Preston Paine (Food Network, The Crescent Hotel, Fort Worth), Bernard Guillas (Maître Cuisinier de France), Drew Deckman (Deckman’s, Valle de Guadalupe), and celebrity chef Claudette Zepeda, to name a few, will be involved this year.
The Festival is a showcase of the rich biodiversity of the region through the chefs’ inspired dishes, alongside an impressive roster of fellow James Beard nominees and winners, acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurants, local farmers and purveyors, and many other top San Diego and Baja restaurant favorites.
An epic array of over 800 different wine and spirits will be poured throughout the Festival featured from the world’s top wine growing regions including Paso Robles, Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Lodi, Temecula, San Diego, Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal to name a few.
Spirits enthusiasts will have chances during the week to taste from some of the world’s most expensive whiskeys, learn about tequila and mezcal, and explore low and no alcohol wine and spirit options too.
A full festival event schedule will be available in September 2023.
