Lao Cai Chinese Cuisine is a West Vancouver restaurant offering authentic Chinese cuisine from the Xi’an region where you will find more noodle and bread dishes than rice.
On the menu are appetizers (like Stewed Pork Burger and Liang-Pi, cold steamed noodle); salads (like Cucumber Salad and Northern Chinese Tofu Salad); hand-ripped noodles (dry-mixed or in noodle soup); house-made dumplings and wontons; and hot pots (like Duck Soup and Prime Lamb).

Chinese Cabbage & Pork Dumplings
Spicy Cumin Lamb Noodle (signature hand-ripped noodles mixed with stir fried sliced spicy cumin lamb)
Stewed Lamb Noodle Soup (signature hand-ripped noodles topped with stewed lamb slices in lamb broth)
Milk Tea
The noodles and dumplings were all delicious and true to their authentic flavours. The dumpling skin had a nice chew to them. The noodles were springy and chewy. The spicy cumin lamb noodle had lots of flavour and the stewed lamb noodle soup was comforting. Good proportion of noodles to other ingredients.
The ambiance is nothing to write home about but the food was good and reasonably priced.
