Twisted Croissant is one of the best croissants purveyors in Portland, Oregon and they are known for their handcrafted croissants, cruffins, croissant donuts and more.
We visited their NE Broadway Shop which was a small store with their baked goods in a display case. It was more like a takeaway spot rather than a cafe where you could linger for a while.
They also offer espresso-based drinks; hot teas; kombucha and more.
We got the following:
- Mixed Berry Crostata with Lemon-Basil Cream featuring their buttery & flakey pie dough mixed with local berries and topped with lemon-basil Bavarian cream.
- Kouign-Amann where they baked and caramelize their croissant dough and the middle is a vanilla syrup center.
- Pain au Chocolat featuring a chocolate croissant dough filled and baked with a soft chocolate truffle and topped with cocoa crumble.
- Peach Cruffin with Ginger and Zuzu.
All the pastries were beautifully crafted, artisanal and delicious. Buttery, flaky, fluffy cream, not too sweet filings – everything was great! The pastry layers were perfect!
