We checked out Spice Waala in Seattle, a local restaurant serving authentic Indian street food featuring flavors from the streets of Calcutta and New Delhi.

They are known for their Kathi Rolls which are grilled roti wraps with fillings. We enjoyed the Kathi Roll Lamb Kebab which had ground lamb patties garnished with their signature green chutney and raw onions.

The Snack Papdi Chaat came highly recommended and are like nachos with Indian flavors. They come with crispy chips which we used to scoop up the boiled potato & chickpeas toppings along with sweet yogurt, tamarind, cilantro chutney. The garnishes were cilantro, raw onions, beets and fried chickpea batter. A tasty, sweet dish!

They serve seasonal soft flavors and this time we lucked out and got the Mango Soft Serve. It was super refreshing and cooled our palette from the bold flavors of the Kathi Roll and Papdi Chaat.

Spice Waala has two locations – one in Ballard and one in Capitol Hill.
