Torafuku

Torafuku’s specialty Mother’s Day five-course menu is available for two weekends: April 30th to May 1st and May 7th to May 9th. $85 for 2 or $170 for a family of 4-5.

Mom can choose between a refined version of Hainanese chicken, a popular South Asian street food adapted from a traditional Hainanese delicacy, served with steamed Hainanese shiitake mushroom rice or a truffle dashi beurre monté sea bream, a tender fish highly regarded for its juicy flavour profile, paired with a creamy yaki udon.

Brined overnight and steamed over rice for maximum flavour, the tender and boneless Hainanese chicken comes with a side of ginger scallion and a house made sambal which has been fermented for at least a week.

The sea bream feature is a European fish poached in emulsified butter while the yaki udon is cooked in a cream sauce made by simmering sea bream bones with anchovy then topped with oyster mushrooms and napa cabbage.

To compliment its feature mains, the Mother’s Day set includes a salad tossed with Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, crispy quinoa, and a house made green goddess dressing; a delicate sea urchin omelette using local British Columbian red uni, Thai basil, and crème fraiche; and a grilled spring vegetable dish with asparagus, broccolini, house made XO sauce, and cured egg yolk.

To end the night, mom can choose between the popular yuzu basque cheesecake with rhubarb compote or an elderflower madeleine cake adorned with seasonal fruit and white chocolate.

Truffles Fine Foods

ARC Restaurant at Fairmont Waterfront is here to help treat Mom to a picnic in the park! Fairmont Waterfront’s Executive Chef Michael Pagnacco has created the Mother’s Day: ARC in the Park picnic to-go, an artisanal picnic experience featuring the best of the Granville Island Public Market.

Priced at $75 per person, this to-go picnic includes items from the culinary team’s favourite Granville Island Public Market vendors, such as A Bread Affair, Benton Brother’s Fine Cheeses and Oyama Sausage Co.

Fairmont Vancouver Airport’s Executive Chef Nandakishore Rangan and the Globe@YVR culinary team look to treat Moms to a special evening at home this holiday with a thoughtfully curated Mother’s Day Dinner To-Go seasonal spring menu.

Set in the scenic surroundings of Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver’s legendary Seasons in the Park is known for its breathtaking views and seasonal menu.

On May 8 and 9, the restaurant will be offering Mother’s Day brunch and dinner service on its heated and covered patio overlooking the park’s lush gardens, which are currently in full springtime bloom.

Reservations will be available from 10:30 a.m. onwards with the culinary team offering a lineup of elegant West Coast fare, including a special prime rib dinner feature ($39).

For those planning an intimate Mother’s Day at home, Seasons in the Park is offering a three-course take-out dinner ($55 per person) that begins with Caesar salad followed by a choice of sablefish or rack of lamb and either chocolate cake or lemon pie for dessert.

The Sandbar

Seafood-loving mamas are sure to adore fresh shellfish options and premium sushi from at Granville Island landmark The Sandbar.

Throughout Mother’s Day weekend, The Sandbar will be serving up a limited-edition take-home sushi combo ($50) that incudes spinach goma-ae, dynamite rolls, Dungeness crab California rolls and a sashimi duo or Sockeye salmon and tuna.

Families can also pick-up a three-course Mother’s Day dinner ($55 per person) featuring a seasonal green salad followed by a sablefish entrée and classic New York cheesecake.

Those who want to take Mom out on the town can visit The Sandbar on Sunday, May 9 for a picturesque waterfront brunch from 10:30 a.m. onwards and enjoy a full line-up of seafood-forward brunch fare, including a special crab and avocado toast feature dish.

In the evening, guests can tuck into The Sandbar’s signature Sunday Night Seafood Boil ($90 for two).

Cardero’s Restaurant

The Coal Harbour neighbourhood haunt will be opening early at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 9 and offering a special shrimp and avocado croissant feature in addition to its signature Sunday brunch menu, which includes West Coast breakfast classics and daytime cocktails.

In the evening, patrons can partake in a delectable prime rib dinner feature ($39) accompanied by seasonal sides.

In addition to its signature to-go offerings, Cardero’s will also be offering a special take-home Mother’s Day menu all weekend long.

Maenam

Maenam’s family-style Chef’s Tasting Menus will add a taste of adventure to your Mother’s Day celebrations.

Mother’s Day Chef’s Tasting Menus are priced at $55 per person with a minimum order of two, and they’re intended to be served family-style for an authentic Thai dining experience.

Maenam’s special Chef’s Tasting Menus accommodate a variety of dietary requirements. Omnivore, pescetarian, and vegetarian dinner menus are all available to go for guests to share in the comfort of their own homes.

Customers may also opt for one of the popular Temaki Kits; these interactive hand-roll kits come complete with everything needed, including fresh seafood, nori, and perfectly seasoned sushi rice. Temaki Kits feed two, The Classic is available for $78.00, and the indulgent Opulence Kit is $148.00.

The Yokoboi Family Favourites Set presents a great value ready-to-eat option for patrons. The set includes twelve pieces of nigiri, Pacific Smoked Salmon Battera Sushi, along with an array of rolls and starters for $188.00, which feeds four.

Yuwa will be offering a limited number of super premium Chirashi Sushi platters.

Priced at $110, the platters are large enough to serve 2-3 people and highlight a selection of premium fish and fresh, seasonal, spring vegetables, such as BC uni, firefly squid, fiddleheads and asparagus.

They will also be offering a premium Temaki Sushi set. The 10+ Temaki (sushi cones) will include spot prawn, scallop, snow crab and more for $88.

For dessert, Yuwa will have a set of six incredibly intricate Wagashi, each inspired by a mother’s love and signature attributes, such as the Kou Ketsu (Noble Generosity)-named piece, modeled after a clematis flower and made of nerikiri and smooth red bean paste.
