Go Fish has been my go-to place for fish burgers and fish tacos in Vancouver. This restaurant supports local fishermen and all pacific fish and shellfish are responsibly harvested. I am a regular at Go Fish and have their number in my contact list for ordering takeout. This little food shack is situated just outside of Granville Island and is popular with not only tourists but locals as well. In the summer, there is often a huge line up at the order window. I find the staff quite energetic and I often hear them singing along to the radio in the back.
There is plenty of outdoor seating near the restaurant but also two long benches nearby. Nothing like enjoying your food and admiring the view at the Fishermen’s Wharf.
Be sure to check out their specials. All prices include GST.
On this visit, I went with the Terrific Tuna Sandwich with wasabi mayo, baby greens, pickled cucumber, Togarashi spice and ponzu sauce. I found the wasabi mayo a bit too intense but the sandwich was tasty overall. It also comes with the Pacific Rim coleslaw, which is refreshing.
The Go Fish tacones are what I order regularly. They are $5.50 each or two for $10. You can mix amd match as well. I ordered the grilled salmon and tempura cod tacones. The tempura cod tacone is definitely my favorite and I quickly devour it every time. The tempura was just right – not overly greasy or heavy. These tacones have a slight sweet taste to them.
Condiments and water to drink are available for patrons. I highly recommend Go Fish if you have out-of-town friends visiting Vancouver or if you are in need of some comfort seafood. On any given day, you will likely find some wildlife hanging around as well.
