Mister Artisan Ice Cream Sandwiches and Pints

It has been a year since Mister Artisan Ice Cream came onto the foodie scene in Vancouver.  I remember visiting them back in June 2016 for a media preview and being excited about their made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream (see review here).  The concept of liquid nitrogen ice cream is not new but was new to Vancouver.  With their delicious, smoooth ice cream and excellent branding, Mister has become one of the most popular ice cream parlours in the city.  Furthermore, they have expanded their offerings to include ice cream sandwiches and take-home pints.

As a media partner of foodora, I had the chance to try out some of Mister’s newer desserts which were a compliment to the limited edition Save on Meat’s Bacon and Eh Burger (see review here).  I tried the Oreo Ice Cream sandwich and a Thai Milk Tea pint.  Both were super delicious and I would recommend them!  The biscuits for the ice cream sandwich are made with an Oreo crust and I loved how they weren’t soft (or sometimes soggy) as a regular ice cream sandwich cookie.  I also noticed that the ice cream sandwich didn’t melt very quickly so it survived my photo shoot.   As for the Thai Milk Tea ice cream, I could easily see myself satisfying my “bubble tea cravings” with it.  I loved how much tea flavour there was rather than tasting like condensed milk.

Most recently, I tried their crème brûlée ? ice cream in-store where they torch the ice cream sandwich for you.  As seen in my video, the torching happens on two longer sides of the sandwich.  In terms of flavour, I think that the crème brûlée flavour is a bit subtle compared to the Oreo flavour of the ice cream sandwich.  For me, the “chocolateness” was more dominant.

I continue to be a fan of Mister’s ice cream products and would recommend them.  I’ll be stocking up on some more ice cream sandwiches and pints which make for good post-dinner desserts.  Rating: 5/5

So jealous you managed to get the Milk Tea Ice Cream Pineapple Bun! I wanted to surprise my dad, but it was only available for their 1-year anniversary that day :(
