Disclaimer: I was invited to try Enroot Meals and all meal items were complimentary. All opinions are my own.
In today’s fast-paced world, we sometimes find ourselves struggling to eat delicious yet nourishing offerings at an affordable price. Meet Enroot Meals – Canada’s first on-demand, fresh and healthy meal delivery service. Within *minutes* of submitting your order, you will be delivered a hot meal with no prep, no clean up and no hassle. No, you’re not dreaming. Enroot is revolutionizing how *you* eat.
How it works
Enroot Meals has their own kitchen in Vancouver where they prepare these delicious meals. The food is made-from-scratch using the best and freshest ingredients sourced locally and are organic whenever possible. Their menu changes daily and includes a tasty array of meat and vegetarian entrées, salads, plus add-on options including a couple of sides and drinks.
The ordering process is simple. First, check out their daily menu and make your order. You will receive a text when the delivery is within 4 minutes away. Finally, meet your friendly server at the curbside and enjoy! Deliveries almost always happen within 15 minutes from ordering.
You’ll be also happy to know that Enroot is environmentally conscious. They deliver meals in fuel-efficient vehicles and use premium 100% compostable packaging and utensils made from plant-based fibres.
Delivery zones do apply but rest assured that Enroot can deliver to any address within the area – residential, commercial, or even if you are standing at an intersection. They currently deliver to Gastown, Mount Pleasant, Strathcona, Cedar Cottage and Fairview with plans of expansion in the next few months.
Affordable
Enroot’s meals are oh-so-affordable with entrees between $7 – $12 plus tax and inclusive of delivery and no minimum delivery charge. In fact, Enroot does foodies a big favour by helping us incur savings on one of our most precious assets – time! Think about the time saved of going to a restaurant, ordering, waiting for the order, then waiting for the bill etc. It’s all about a hassle-free experience with Enroot.
What I Tried
I recently tried out Enroot and the experience was shall we say, easy-peasy and enjoyable. After submitting my order, I received a text message alerting me of my meal’s imminent arrival. I eagerly dashed out the door to the curbside where the delivery guy passed me my nicely *hot* order via the passenger window.
I tried several items including the angus beef lasangna ($9.95), steak and potato burrito ($9.95), glazed chicken noodle salad ($8.95) and broccoli cheddar cheese soup ($4.50). All of the items evoked a hearty, homemade kind of goodness and I thought the portions were very reasonable for the price.
My definite favourite was the steak and potato burrito. It is made with slow simmered chuck flat Angus, marinated house steak, Yukon gold garlic baby potatoes, oven dried cherry tomatoes, garlic aioli in a spinach tortilla. On first bite, you get a burst of juice from the fresh cherry tomatoes. The flavour of the beef with the garlic baby potatoes is simply *amazing* and definitely gives you a comforting feeling.
